I don't think there is enough I9 owners globally to justify region specific I9 subreddits. That and there is too much overlap. But not everything is the same between regions. It would be nice to either have a flair that identifies region or a way to tag posts with region. This is especially useful with all the sales/purchasing advice threads. But even when discussing features.

I got this idea after participating on this post about driver attentiveness alerts. It's clear that different regions have different implementations and that's important to the discussion.

So this is an update on my original post asking if anyone knew what thee Trailer Preparation Package is for the Ioniq 9.

Since making that original post, I have received my order for the Preferred AWD+ model, which as far as I can tell is unique to Canada. And now that I have the car, it appears that Hyundai Canada doesn't know what the Trailer Preparation Package is either. Something that is disappointing, but not surprising, as according to Hyundai Canada, only 4 people special ordered this trim.

I have the hitch installed, but no 7 pin connector. It's been a month and I still have no update from Hyundai as to how I can legally tow with my new car. When the dealer went to install the wiring harness, my car lacked the internal jacks to plug the wiring harness into.

Irony is that I don't actually want to tow anything, but I do have a hitch mounted bike carrier and it has a light bar for the license plate holder. Which I need to have plugged in if I want

1. to not get a ticket for not having my plate illuminated at night
2. have the auto rear collision avoidance turned off automatically, instead of having to do it manually everytime I get into the car.

I'm good for some time as the days are long and I don't see driving late with bikes on the car anytime soon. Worst case I'll rig some 12v line out the trunk to power the light bar.

This is more of a rant than anything as I don't think anyone online here will know what the Trailer Preparation Package actually is.

Edit: The only two models that don't have it in Canada are the Preferred AWD+ and Essential RWD. All other models come with it so installation is easy. I believe in the USA, all models come with this. I don't know about the rest of the world.

Edit2: My original salesman called with an update. The update was we have no update. Still waiting on Hyundai Canada to let them know what to do.

So there is an old thread about this but it's almost a year old now and there has to be some good options/opinions now.

Hyundai doesn't seem to sell there own and just re-sells the Weathertech one. The weathertech one looks like the super cheap ones from Amazon but they want over $100CAD. And another $40 for the bag.

Any recommendations?

I have a new Hyundai EV. The car supports Plug and Charge, but there is nothing setup by Hyundai to make that happen with any network. No network app has a plug and charge setup for their network either. Why is this not happening in Canada? Apparently companies like VW and BMW have this sorted?
