How is the current Xperia 10 in use?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently using a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, but the battery health has degraded to the point where I'm looking at my options.

I'm torn between just paying to get the battery replaced, or jumping ship to Sony and grabbing the current Xperia 10 VI.

Initially, I thought it might be a sidegrade due to the mid-range processor and the 60Hz screen compared to Samsung's specs. But considering what I actually value, could this be an upgrade.

Here is my typical usage and what I care about:

Battery Life: This is my absolute biggest priority right now. The S23 FE is already known for being power-hungry, and it's getting worse. I hear the Xperia 10 series are absolute battery champions. I actually loved my Xperia 10, but early DJI drones did not support Xperias with the app. Now with my RC2 controller and Mini 5 pro and Air 3 this is not an issue anymore.

Daily Tasks: I mostly use my phone for browsing, social media, messaging, and streaming. No heavy mobile gaming. The headphone jack and SD card slot on the Xperia are definitely a nice bonus, but they aren't strictly necessary for me.

Form Factor: I really love the clean, lightweight, and comfortable design of the Xperia.

My main hesitation is whether some things happened or declined with sony (i mean, their market share declined even further, so why?) The S23 FE is still really snappy (it does not run hot),

For those who use the Xperia 10 VI

Given my usage, does the legendary battery life make it a worthy upgrade over just repairing my Samsung?

Does the software optimization keep the 60Hz screen and the performance feeling smooth enough?

Looking for a €400 upgrade from S23 FE (March 2024). Need great battery life and close to zero spyware/bloatware.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking to replace my Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, which was manufactured in March 2024 (making it about 26 months old now). I bought it used last year as a temporary device after a nightmare experience trying to get my old S22's battery replaced at a local retailer (had to go back 5 times, never again).

Performance-wise, I am still completely satisfied with the S23 FE. It handles everything flawlessly. However, the battery life is becoming a major daily bottleneck. I've been tracking it with AccuBattery since June 2, 2025. Back then, the health was at 92%, but it has now dropped to around 83% to 84%. While I can sometimes stretch it to a full day, I frequently find myself needing to charge it twice a day lately. Charging more than twice a day is an absolute dealbreaker for me.

I have a budget of around €400 (decided to skip investing extra cash right now to prioritize a reliable daily driver).

My criteria:

  • Budget: Around €400 max.
  • Battery: Huge capacity/great efficiency. I need something that comfortably lasts the day on a single charge under heavy use.
  • Software & Privacy: Long-term software support, a clean UI, and as little spyware/bloatware as possible.
  • Performance: Needs to feel at least as snappy and smooth as my current S23 FE.

I've looked at the base Galaxy S23/S24, but the small battery sizes scare me off since I don't want to end up with the same battery anxiety I had on my base S22.

Maybe a Motorolla Edge 70 Fusion? It has an 7000 MAh battery inside it, but i dont know how good the cells are inside it and how the OS feels. It needs to be a safe phone.

Radio Etherfreak received in North part of the Netherlands on a tube radio, Pirate station.

I was testing this old tube radio i just received. I have been listening to this pirate station in 48 meters for almost 2 hours now.

He is testing his audio processor. Seems good to me. Seems like a station broadcasting near me.
