Help me choose!

Guys, I need a 12/256gb phone. I'll be doing video editing and some light gaming (mainly roblox) here and there. The camera should be good, and I want it to work fine for 4-5 years. The budget is 35k-40k inr. I have some options I've enlisted, I can convince parents for some extra couple thousands. Open to suggestions (no motorola).

Samsung takes away more user freedom with the latest update of 'My Files'

Samsung is increasingly moving towards a one-size-fits-all constrained OS with less user freedom, and I don't like it one bit.

Since yesterday's update (2026-05-20) for Android 16, One UI 8.0, you can no longer smoothly open .txt files with your default text editor. Samsung has apparently decided that 'My Files' now overrides any user settings and opens the file with 'My Files' itself.

If you want to use your preferred editor, you now need to long press the file and choose it among several apps. There is no more 'always' option to set the default in the 'open with' menu, and the default apps menu in settings does not show an option for txt files.

For now my fix is to reset the 'My Files' app to factory defaults and reject future updates. In the long term I might look to a different OEM for my next smartphone.

OP 13 in 2026?

Hey guys, before heading to college, I need to buy a phone. Brand aesthetic doesn't matter much as long as I'm getting a good UI maybe like OxygenOS?

I'm a bit of a gamer. I play games like Wuwa or Genshin and such. So yeah thermal management is a bit of a factor. I do want a stable FPS with moderate to Max graphics (ranging).

Camera wise, would definitely want a device that produces good photo and video after processing. I love ultrawide so there's that. I'm a bit of an editor so raw videos or images work too. Totally fine as long as the output comes out neat.

So yeah my main preferences were these. Hence why I was considering OP 13 (16/512).

My budget is around 65K INR max.

Hope you guys can help me out, I'm new here hehe. I'm open to discussions.

New android or refurbished iphone?

I'm looking to buy a new phone, I'll be starting college this year, so I am looking to buy something that would last through games like Roblox and video editing. My budget is around INR 30-35k (can stretch a little). There are a lot of stores here that sell refurbished iphones at a cheap rate. I am getting an iphone 13P (128gb) with all original and no service history for 39k. Or 15P 256gb for 49.9k. If not any of these, which android phones should I go for?

Do you guys have a dedicated "drunk phone" for nights out? Because I think I just built the ultimate one - Asahi Phone.

After losing my main $1200 flagship during a wild night out last month, I decided enough is enough.

Picked up a rugged Japanese Sharp A201SH and modded it into the ultimate "Asahi Edition" pub companion.

Why it’s statistically proven to survive any party:

Tactile physical buttons: Absolute lifesaver when your touchscreen focus is a bit... blurry.

Heavy-duty wrist strap: It literally cannot escape my hand, no matter how hard the gravity hits.

The Ultimate Convenience: If I'm too drunk to articulate my order to the bartender in a loud club, I just flip the phone over, point at the massive Asahi logo on the back, and nod.

What the modification affected:

- a sticker was applied to the back panel,

- wallpaper was generated,

- a ringtone in the style of J-pop was generated,

- the sound of opening a can of beer for notifications,

- equipped with a wrist strap.

Pros of a basic smartphone:

- SIM+eSIM,

- 5G, factory unlocked,

- Sharp IGZO IPS Display,

- waterproof.

Share what smartphone you use for drinking and partying!

iPhone 17 Pro Max or the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra?

I have used only Android phones since then, and I am planning to buy a new flagship phone soon. The thing is, I have been endlessly watching video comparisons between the flagship models, and I still have not made up my mind on what phone I should buy. However, each person uses their phone differently, so each has their own experiences and opinions about the phones.

Things to consider:

HARDWARE:

- Must have insane longevity and consistency (performance of the device over the next 5+ years)

- Gaming performance (FPS, Temperature, minimum lag spikes)

- Temperature in general (Which device will be cooler in general? Like watching videos or movies, scrolling on social media, taking pictures or filming, etc.)

- Heavy workload (better performance and temperature. Not exclusive to multitasking, but more demanding tasks on a single app)

- Display quality and colors, also smoothness

- Signal reception

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY (For mobile or non-mobile photographers/videographers):

- I often prefer more realistic and warm colors

- Smoothness of the camera experience

- Willing to use 3rd party camera apps for better control (Ex: Blackmagic app for iOS, Motioncam Pro for Android)

- Editability of non-RAW and LOG files

- Quality of pro photo and video codecs (RAW, LOG, and others), as I am planning to learn post-production

SOFTWARE:

- I can adapt to the change in OS (both OneUI and iOS) since I only do technical stuff on my PC anyway

- Basically, a phone that is just the best at the fundamentals, no need for the gimmicky stuff such as AI

- Aesthetics (which phone looks best with minimal effort)

GAMING (For heavy gamers that play demanding games)

- Consistent 60/120 fps, with minimal heating in demanding games like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves

- Best graphics

- Sustained performance

- Longevity (Say it's 2030, and I have owned one of these phones for 4 years; which of these phones would fare better in gaming in the future?)

OTHER INFORMATION:

- I have an iPad Air (I already have some experience with iOS, I don't dislike it, it just feels different)

- I have a Windows PC (I use this more than the iPad)

- I don't really care about new features, I just want to be able to play games smoothly, take photos and videos, hop on social media, and customize my phone.

TLDR: Which among the two phones can I feel the most secure using for more than 5 years?

Looking for budget friendly upgrades to my galaxy s10

I mainly use the phone for games, music and videos. Not a huge picture or video taker and I don't play any top of the line mobile games, mainly games on mistplay and freecash app. Budget is around 400$ and I would like a phone that has some longevity going forward and something that isn't massive in the hand. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Best android phone in rs50k-60k range.

Suggest me some good android phones in the range of 50-60k. The non negotiable are screen and camera. Not a gamer at all and dont have time for that as well so that's out of discussion. Would be a good point if it comes with a good battery life as well. Aiming to buy it in E-commerce sales like the Big billion etc. Also Redmi, Mi, Vivo, Oppo are out of options as well. Not going to give that much for these phones.

Edit: Any pixel 10 and samsung s25 users can give me their real life reviews as well if possible.

Pixel 9 Pro or Find X9 Pro? Need the best upload quality for IG

Hi I’m stuck. I’ve always been a Pixel user because I love the photo quality, but I just saw Dieter Bohn's x post and it’s making me second-guess.

He shows the Find X9 Ultra now can have higher video upload bitrate and better experiences with Instagram. And someone said in the comment that pro is also capable. For someone who posts Reels and Stories daily for work, that’s highly needed. My current Pixel still struggles with that weird "Android blur" whenever I upload.

Does anyone here have the Find X9? Is the IG optimization actually that good, or is it just for specific regions? If it’s as good as they say, I might actually make the switch. Help me out everyone pleeeaase

Looking for a €400 upgrade from S23 FE (March 2024). Need great battery life and close to zero spyware/bloatware.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking to replace my Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, which was manufactured in March 2024 (making it about 26 months old now). I bought it used last year as a temporary device after a nightmare experience trying to get my old S22's battery replaced at a local retailer (had to go back 5 times, never again).

Performance-wise, I am still completely satisfied with the S23 FE. It handles everything flawlessly. However, the battery life is becoming a major daily bottleneck. I've been tracking it with AccuBattery since June 2, 2025. Back then, the health was at 92%, but it has now dropped to around 83% to 84%. While I can sometimes stretch it to a full day, I frequently find myself needing to charge it twice a day lately. Charging more than twice a day is an absolute dealbreaker for me.

I have a budget of around €400 (decided to skip investing extra cash right now to prioritize a reliable daily driver).

My criteria:

  • Budget: Around €400 max.
  • Battery: Huge capacity/great efficiency. I need something that comfortably lasts the day on a single charge under heavy use.
  • Software & Privacy: Long-term software support, a clean UI, and as little spyware/bloatware as possible.
  • Performance: Needs to feel at least as snappy and smooth as my current S23 FE.

I've looked at the base Galaxy S23/S24, but the small battery sizes scare me off since I don't want to end up with the same battery anxiety I had on my base S22.

Maybe a Motorolla Edge 70 Fusion? It has an 7000 MAh battery inside it, but i dont know how good the cells are inside it and how the OS feels. It needs to be a safe phone.

Unihertz Tank 4 Pro vs Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra vs Oukitel WP200 Pro vs Doogee V Max 2 Pro vs Blackview Xplore 2 reliability/quality control?

Looking at these 5 phones and the specs are incredible but I want something that I can keep and use for a while and I've heard very mixed reviews of all 5 brands, any feedback would be very much appreciated thank you! :)

I also live in Canada so I'd be using them in below -20°C for about 4 months of the year.

My alternative to these is to get a used Samsung S20 Ultra 5g for the same price which I'm sure has a more reliable build quality but it's a pretty old phone too so I'd rather get one of these if it's good enough.

My 2 main criteria are that the phone must have an SD card slot and over 12gb of hardware RAM (preferably 16gb)

Hey all!

I'm in the market for a new phone. My Pixel 4a has served me well these five years, but it is starting to fall apart--literally. The exterior and screen are crumbling.

Before that I had a 2016 iPhone SE, which I loved dearly for its small size and hard-edged exterior. (Never cared for ultra-thin, rounded designs.)

So, I'm looking for a new phone. Or refurbished if it's reputable, I guess. Here are my criteria:

* 3.5mm jack is a *must-have*. Seriously, this is a dealbreaker for me.

* The smaller the better. Hard-edged ("slate?" I think?) form factor is a plus but not mandatory.

* Android OS preferred.

* I don't need anything fancy-- mid range is fine. Other than calling and texting, I mostly just use my phone for light internet browsing, GPS, and taking photos of my cats, so high-end features are wasted on me.

* Current provider is Verizon, if that matters.

Don't get me wrong, I can browse phones myself, but before I do several hours of research and possibly make blunders anyway, I wanted to check in with people who know their stuff a bit more than me. Brands or models to avoid, intricacies of Google vs Samsung, what have you. Everything at Best Buy is gigantic and most of them have no headphone jack anyway. Do I have a fool's hope?

Which phone has the best battery: Pixel 9 Pro or Galaxy S25?

Another comparison between these two phones. This time about the battery.

On my iPhone 11, I get about over 3 hrs of screen-on time. My 3 main apps that account for that are Reddit, Apple Music and YouTube. The latter two are used in the background most of the time. I also don’t use any Meta apps on my phone, so I won’t have to worry about battery drain on my next phone.
