1953 Deepfreeze C135 chest freezer!
Found this puppy on marketplace a while back for 150. Took me and 2 others to get it down the basement stairs. Made sure to get life insurance before trying. She is cleaned up and operating good. Drawing 1.6kwh per day, not incredible but not THAT bad for a 13.5 cuft unit. Will eventually install a new door seal and figure out a better storage system for the inside. Considering recovering the r12 and converting to isobutane or propane refrigerant for some efficiency gain but that'll be a job for another day.
Deepfreeze built the first home freezer in 1947. This is where the term "deepfreeze" comes from, and even to this day, people commonly refer to chest freezers as deepfreezers. They were bought out by Amana in ~1955.
