Riga: Airport + Night Bus Hours

Hei. I have a flight getting in to Riga airport around 23:00 (Saturday night) in a couple of weeks, then have to get to the bus station for the Lux Express to Tallinn at 02:30 following (Sunday) morning. Two questions:

  1. Does anyone know how late the airport is open? I think the bus station closes around 23:00 or 00:00, except for that little passageway from the street to the platforms. And I'm just wondering if it might be more comfortable waiting at the airport.

  2. If I wait at the airport, does anyone have any information about buses from airport to bus station, late night/early morning? Using Google maps and another public transport site (can't remember which), I thought I had seen that when the #22 bus stops running, there is a special N22 bus that runs all night, once every hour. But last time I was at the airport (a few weeks ago), and asked at the information center, the woman told me that's not true, that there is no bus after midnight. I think she might have been mistaken, but just in case I'm hoping that someone can tell me definitively if there is such a bus.

Paldies!

Ancient Sun-dried Tomatoes

I have a package of dried (i.e., not in a jar/not in oil, but in a cellophane bag) sun-dried tomatoes with a best-by date of April 2019. The package is unopened (tomatoes in a plastic tray, covered with sealed cellophane bag - but probably far from air-tight).

Safe to eat? Not worth the risk, even if small?

Thanks!

Unrefrigerated Grana Padano

Went to the market, bought a wedge of grana padano (plastic/vacuum sealed), got involved in other things, left it on the counter for 2.5-3 hours. Still safe to eat?

Thanks!

Hi. I currently live/work in Estonia, and owing to the close proximity, have been to Latvia - Riga and Jurmala areas - a few times over the past year. I can't say I really "know" these cities (let alone the country), but I've had such a positive response to my trips there that I'm seriously considering buying a property somewhere in the country so that I could spend at least part of my year - more than just a few days - there. I'm a remote/freelance worker, and could even imagine moving there on a more permanent basis (although I love Estonia - and wouldn't want to leave there either!)

I'm not by any means wealthy, so if I buy a place I'd like it to be not only someplace I'd like to spend time, but also a good investment for the future. With this in mind, I'd love to get input regarding not only areas in/around/outside of Riga that might be good value/good quality of life, but even other towns/cities that might be recommended. As noted, I can work from anywhere, and I do love an urban buzz, but don't want to live in the center of it; I prefer peace and quiet (but a bit of grittiness isn't a problem). "Nightlife" per se isn't really important to me, but I do like all sorts of cultural/creative things - although I don't necessarily need to have these at my doorstep 24/7. I could imagine being happy in a somewhat far-flung suburb 45 minutes from Riga, or a nice town with a good vibe 3 hours from Riga.

Maybe this is too open ended - but I'm just looking to get any and all input from different points of view. So, thanks in advance!
