Hello I just joined this sub so I can share this good news with you, especially those from the Bay Area.
If the whole show looks and sounds like this, I’ll be a happy camper.
The first landed in Zach and Ashley Waldman’s inbox on Thursday, announcing new ownership of the 10-condo building at 6838 Geary Blvd. “I may have met some of you while doing inspections of the building,” read the missive signed by Hans Geiszler. “If so, I look forward to seeing you again. If not, I look forward to meeting you at the property sometime soon!”
The second arrived not 24 hours later with the bad news: Effective Sept. 1, rent would nearly double, going from $3,695 to $7,000.
The new owner, Eagle Peak Holdings LLC, is registered to a 35-year-old Marin County native named Hans Geiszler, whose father is a renowned architect with a firm in SF and a planning commission seat in Mill Valley. The landlord didn’t respond to multiple requests for comment by phone and email, so it’s unclear how he justifies spiking the rent so far above market rate.
