1989 Advanced Heroquest Skaven Clanrat

My 1989 Advanced Heroquest Boxset Skaven clanrat. I received the Advanced Heroquest boxed game for Christmas in 1989. Pictured is one of the Skaven Clanrats that came with the game. Painted by me shortly after.

Failed with 4 minutes to go......Heresy was rejected

A1 Mini. Orca Slicer. 0.06 layer height ObscuraNox. Tree Supports.

Scan of an old school Chaos Warrior (Intentionally armless as arms are separate). 5.5 hour print.

Checked on it with 10 minutes to go, went and made a coffee, came back and found it had popped off the plate with 4 mins to go. Lost part of the helmet horns and skull spike. Not totally ruined, is now battle damaged.

My printer rejected the heresy.

0.2mm Prints of old school minis with reverse slapchop?

Been experimenting with painting techniques. As someone who is, lets say very, bad at painting I took to slap chop with great gusto. However, I found that it doesn't work so well with Army Painter Speedpaints 2.0. The coverage of darker colours is non existant. I then saw some suggestions to prime white and use a black wash, then cover with speed paints.

I had just printed off some minis - scans of 90's minis Rat Ogre and 2 x Minotaur's. And a new supportless Barbarian by Arbiter and gave the technique a try. All printed at 0.6 layer height with ObscuraNox settings

Primed with Wraithbone and then washed with Army painter Dark Tone. Happy with the results, I then painted the rat ogre. Turned out quite good! Now i just have to learn to ignore the imperfections a camera on 2x zoom shows.

A1 Mini Assortment of prints from this weekend

Dug all my old 90s minis out of their storage boxes this weekend and my 1989 boxed set of Advanced Heroquest

Decided to print off a range of fantasy minis so I can get back into the game with the next generation of friends.

First 3 minis which are scans of classic Warhammer quest heroes. Very minimal tree supports

Second a Cultist Leader and Wizard printed with tree supports. The cultists hands came off during support removal but a quick dab of glue got them back on.

Two supportless skeletons.

All printed on A1 mini using 0.6 layer height ObscuraNox settings.

And for nostalgia one of my ancient metal skeletons from Ral Partha 1986.
