Medical Bills for Kitten Hit By Car
A little over a month ago, I found a kitten limping across the parking lot of my apartment complex. I got out of my car to see how I could help, or to see if he needed humane euthanasia. He was missing part of his hind left leg, from right below the knee. I brought him to the emergency vet and they said that he was healthy other than the leg and how malnourished he was. He weighed 5.75 pounds. It was at least a few days old at that point because >!it was no longer bleeding, but his bone was sticking out and he had pieces of tissue dangling from the wound.!< We think he either got hit by a car or stuck in a hunter's trap or similar, since he had no other damage. I kept him in my bathroom overnight and padded it with towels, and took him to my vet the next day. They tested him for FIV and it came back negative, as well as all other tests they ran. They had to keep him overnight to get fluids into him and to monitor him before his amputation the next day. My partner decided to name him Three Piece Supreme after the order from Bojangles, lol. They had to keep him for two days after the amputation to help him recover. I am a full-time student and my partner currently works 30 hours a week, so we had to use Scratchpay to take out a loan to pay for the procedure all at once. Any help we could get is huge. The gofundme I have set up so far has helped pay for some of the initial costs like cat supplies, microchip, and part of the loan, but we still have awhile to go and I want to pay it off ASAP before it starts acquiring interest in October. He also has unfortunately developed ringworm, so we have since had to take him back into the vet for that and he currently is on treatment for it. Supreme is the sweetest boy and we are so glad we were able to rescue him. Please consider donating and/or sharing, as everything helps. We still have $2,132.50 left of the loan to pay off, and any additional money raised will be going towards his ringworm treatment. Thank you so much! https://www.gofundme.com/u/e1e90e78-0aa5-48bf-8625-584cbfec2d19
