How does the audio problems manifest?

I am considering the B9ii and know about the HDMI audio issues. But, I guess my question is, what setup actually causes it? Is it only if you run HDMI out for sound? Is it anything you have hooked up to it's HDMI ports at all will have the problems, whether the tv is connected to an audio system?

Currently, the tv I would be replacing controls all the video switching, so I would have a few things hooked up to the tv via HDMI, and one audio out to a receiver. I thought I read somewhere that if you use a different audio out, other than HDMI, then you wouldn't have an issue?

Would you buy again?

I am looking at the Bravia 9 II and with the problems I am seeing, mostly audio, would you buy one again? Should I be looking somewhere else? (samsung, etc) I see Sony recommended all over, but when I dig in, I see a lot of people complaining about them and complaining about their poor service and updates.

Now, I know mostly people with problems are the ones you see posting online, but I know someone personally who owns a B9II and has had the audio issues, so now I am really nervous about purchasing.

Basement rough in

Hey all, I am in the process of finishing my basement. I am looking for recommendations on speaker locations, they will very likely be ceiling/wall.

First, I am not looking for technically perfect, I am just looking for good general setup. We had a dedicated home theater for years, but we seldom used it, so we converted it to a golf sim. Anyway, again, just want general locations where to run speaker wire so if we decide to add speaker later we can. It is a general area where you can watch sports, occasionally movie, video games, etc.

Here is the rough layout with rough dimensions. I threw in some speaker locations from where I am guessing they could go. The Left Rear is the hardest spot since I don't have a good wall area to use. Thanks,
