Switch from Comcast to Ziply

I have Comcast for internet and also their "landline" phone. I want to switch to Ziply and their "landline" phone.

Can anyone give me an idea of the time frame for porting my current Comcast phone number to Ziply?

If I keep Comcast and install Ziply and ask for the phone number port, does that minimize the time the phone will be dead? In other words, how does all this work? If I keep Comcast and install Ziply with phone, does the Comcast phone continue working until the moment the number transfers and then it works on Ziply?

With Comcast I am using my own modem connected to my own router. I also use Tailscale now. Tailscale gives me easy connection to my home systems while I am traveling, so I don't really need to be able to mess with opening ports, etc. So, the next question is: What are the advantages/disadvantages of using Ziply's router and wifi?

Ghostty background colors change after update to macOS 26.6.1

I updated macOS to 26.6.1 yesterday. Now both ghostty and cmux (which uses the ghostty config), show awful and unusable background colors. I am running a Mac mini m4 attached to an LG UltraFine monitor. I use dark mode always on macOS.

It looks like the background color is set to white (or at least something very bright) in ghostty after this update.

If I run `ghostty +list-themes` and select my theme (Pierre Dark), the preview is correct.

Changing to other themes and restarting has no effect. Changing settings with respect to Liquid Glass and "reduce transparency" and "increase contrast" on macOS have no effect.

Other terminals, like iTerm, WezTerm, Kitty are not affected by this issue. Interestingly, MacTerm, which I believe uses libghostty, in also unaffected. As noted above, cmux shows the same problem as ghostty.

I did finally fix this by explicitly setting

background=#000000

in the ghostty config.

But why? Anyone else see this?

What type of USB port does the HDHomeRun FLEX 4k have?

I have spent quite a bit of time looking at the SiliconDust web site and searching the web and cannot find any specification for the USB ports on the HDHomeRun hardware. It *looks* like a USBA port, but what is it really? How the heck do you find this basic information?

Thanks
