Heirloom bamboo went to seed (and died) - tips for success with the seed?

This clumping bamboo stand came from starts from my grandpa 15-20 years ago. I remember it being at his place at least 10-15 years before that.

The whole stand died while I was away this year and I finally cut it out - and then realized it had gone to seed. I now know this is part of bamboo's natural cycle, but am looking for tips on how to successfully propagate some seed so it can continue to live on.

Pic is of some of what I just cut out and shows the seed.

Stupid wunks never heard of snowshoes

How tf are they gonna evolve if they can't even see where they're going?!?

Got to watch this beauty enjoy a big meal

This was so cool to come across on my way home today (Chiang Mai, Thailand). My book of Thai wildlife pointed to an ID of golden tree-snake. The pic in the book plus ones I found online don't seem to have the blue though, so 🤷‍♀️

I feel lucky to have been able to watch this little bit of nature in the city.

Is it ok to keep this guy as a temporary pet?

I think this is a asian black beetle, and I want to keep him around for a few days or maybe longer if it won't harm him to be kept as a pet for a bit.

If I give him a couple inches of garden soil and leaf litter and branches and feed him fresh fruit, will he likely be ok?
