Had hyperemesis for the first time at the end of May, stopped smoking immediately and the cravings have been there but ultimately haven't caved because that day in the hospital was so awful.
I know this may be ill-advised and unwelcome by many here, but I had a beach day with my stoner bestie yesterday and the urge to just chill out was profound, and I took one single hit of her joint. After not smoking for nearly 3 months, that one hit got me sufficiently high and honestly felt so great, I'd missed the sensation so much!
I was obviously worried about what would happen today, but I'm happy to report that I've had no stomach issues or pain at all today. Now, I know this is not a sign that I should start smoking again--I will never go back to daily smoking or even keeping any weed on me since I know it would just be too tempting. But to know that I can potentially take a hit or two every once in a while, maybe once a month or so on a night out with friends, is so reassuring. I want to be careful, and I never want to experience hyperemesis ever again, so I am moving cautiously. But damn I miss it and having just a little bit was such a welcome return.
My silicone water bottle straw will not get clean. It's had this brown staining in it for a few weeks. I've scrubbed, soaked, picked, used every texture of tool to try and scrape it off and it's just totally stuck. I guess I feel confident it's not dirt or mold since it can't be removed, but it's unpleasant to look at when I'm taking a drink. Any tips appreciated!
ETA: y'all I appreciate the advice, but I obviously have and use a straw cleaner/pipe cleaner. That is of course the first thing I used when I noticed this, I mentioned using "every tool," straw cleaner included. That's why I came here to ask for tips and alternatives, cause the obvious isn't working.
First of all, picking your nose is satisfying as hell and it shouldn't be seen as unsanitary if you wash your hands afterwards.
Now, once you've picked your nose, what are you supposed to do with the booger? If you're somewhere without a tissue available, your best options are: flicking it, wiping it on something, or eating it. Of all the options, the most sanitary and least disruptive to the public is easily the last of the 3.
I understand why it's seen as gross, but your nose/throat/mouth are all connected. If you cough up some mucus and swallow it, it's exactly the same as swallowing a booger from your nose. It's your own biological matter, it shouldn't be viewed as strange or unclean to simply put it back where it came from.
I was sent my lease renewal last week, i haven't signed it yet and it's not due back until the end of July. The proposed increase was $200, an almost 6% increase (absurd), and as it's a rent stabilized unit, I'm wondering if/how the new rent freeze announcement effects me?
For context, we're changing leaseholders as my roommate is leaving, so I have to ask my landlords to send a new renewal anyways since the one they sent has her name on it still. They'll also likely make me reapply for the unit in order to get my name on the top line (I'm listed as a roommate currently, not a tenant), so I don't know if they're going to send an entirely new rate with a brand new lease.
Thanks in advance for any advice or help!
Anyone know of shops around that sell herbal cigarettes (sage, lavender, teas, other herbs, etc)? I had to quit weed recently and anytime I ask the smoke shops if they have herbal cigarettes, they think I'm covertly asking for pre rolls lol
Hey y'all-- decade long weed smoker (only flower for a long time but recently had been using carts much more frequently), just had my first episode of hyperemesis and ended up in the ER with the dreaded CHS diagnosis. I certainly believe the doctors and my symptoms seem to match perfectly, save for the fact that I had absolutely no nausea or issues prior to this episode. I just went out to a party on Saturday night, drank a bit too much and threw up, and in the morning what I thought was just a hangover became hyperemesis for nearly 24 hours.
I guess I'm looking to hear from other folks who completely skipped stage 1, if there are others out there. Grateful to find some community, cause as silly as it sounds, I'm really mourning the loss of being able to smoke.
I'm sure whatever they were driving recklessly for was in service of the community and not just them speeding so they can get back to playing Candy Crush sooner!
