Random Idea: City Management DLC/Game Mode

I've been seeing a lot of AoE 2 chill/ambience videos on Youtube and there are also users here who make pretty towns and cities in the map editor, it got me thinking about how much I enjoy the building/city management aspect of the game. I feel like the game's aesthetic and decorative option palette could work quite well for that.

What if there was a new DLC/game mode that had less emphasis on combat/military units and instead let you play AoE2 as a city builder game?

Obviously we would need some major tweaks, a few off the top of my head:

  • Deemphasize military units, but don't remove them, cities still need guards
  • Discourage clear cutting forests, it makes sense to clearcut when fuelling a war machine, but deforested landscapes are not pretty :(
  • New/adjusted buildings for city activities
  • Infrastructure management

...or am i just crazy and way off base here?

Why did Skeen think he could convince Cassian?

Skeen says he thinks Cassian is like him... but wouldn't that make Cassian a suboptimal double crossing partner?

If Skeen has no problem betraying Vel and Nemik (he doesn't know Nemik died yet), surely this means Cassian wouldn't be safe either.

Even floating the idea seemed like a bad idea since Skeen needed Cassian to pilot, where as I don't think Cassian didn't really need Skeen for anything (the freighter was already loaded).

For what it's worth I don't think Skeen planned on stealing the money from the start, or even on letting Taramyn die (Skeen did provide cover fire for a moment and then was inches from getting shot himself), I think he was just an opportunist.

The only explanation I can come up with is that Skeen was tired and thought of becoming a millionaire compromised his judgment.

TLDR: Why did Skeen try to convince Cassian? Outcomes:

  • If Cassian is dishonest (like Skeen) then he either goes along with the double cross then kills Skeen as soon as he can or just kills Skeen immediately
  • If Cassian is honest then he knows Skeen cannot be trusted and must be killed
  • Seems like a lose-lose for Skeen (or am I just daft?)

Thoughts on the name Ted?

As in, short for Theodore.

Considering baby names atm, but wife's first association with that name is >!Ted Bundy!< which is understandably very negative. I am wondering how common that negative sentiment is.
