New luxury student flats featuring spa and cinema opens in Glasgow city centre

> with developers saying it will “help address the chronic shortage of purpose-built student accommodation in the popular city.”

Doesn't feel like a "chronic shortage", especially with more developments like the old Herald offices being approved.

Whilst any accomodation will help take pressure of the rest, I just can't shake the feeling that there is a student property bubble developing in Glasgow and it's going to implode over the next decade.

I wonder how hard these place are to convert into actual homes?

Doctor tells inquiry hospital concerns ignored for 15 years

> NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) said it was reviewing the evidence, but that patient safety remained its "utmost concern".

Bullshit. Like Amy organisation their "utmost concern" is covering their own corpulent arses. They do not want to know the truth as that means admitting to failures and inviting consequences.

Glasgow misses new affordable homes target as construction costs rise

Before yous all get the flaming pitchforks out, here's the important bit:

> However, a report to the council's city administration committee said Glasgow had managed to deliver significantly more new-build affordable homes compared with other cities within the United Kingdom.

Given the pressures everyone is under (especially with the Tangerine Turd fucking more shit up), maybe GCC didn't actually do a dreadful job for once.

TikToker faces police probe over secret filming using Meta 'smart glasses'

Two things:

  1. Fuds like this need their glasses rammed up their fundamental orifice; sideways
  2. All these glasses need a visible warning to others that "Cunt Mode" has been engaged. Same for the ones that are audio-only

Kayden Moy's killer Jay Stewart posts video from prison boasting about murder

Seems to me like someone needs hauled before a judge to have their sentence extended. Possibly indefinitely.

As for the SPS, someone needs a final warning for incompetence.

ScotRail apology as passengers unable to book tickets in app launch chaos

Absolute shower of inept fuds.

> ScotRail has apologised for the chaotic launch of its new booking app, which has left hundreds of passengers unable to book train tickets.

Hundreds? Is that all? Seemed like it was just about everyone!

That new ScotRail app

Has anyone actually managed to use it?

I can't log-in and when I try the "Forgot password" flow, the email never turns up (yes, I have checked my spam folder). They deffo have a record of my account, as I can't create a new one with the same email address.

"Sign in" on the ScotRail site doesn't work either. Seems their roll out is going really well!

Luckily for me I don't desperately need to buy a ticket this morning, so I guess it's off to Customer Support I toddle.

Edit: Ah-ha! Found on the website:

> We’re sorry for the delay to anyone switching their ScotRail app today. We are working with our technical teams to clear this as quickly as possible and we apologise for the inconvenience. Customers who are having issues can continue to use the old ScotRail app to purchase tickets until midday.

What I find hilarious is that the old app will only let me go to stored tickets, not buy new ones.

Give yourself extra time to get to a machine if you need a ticket this morning.

Also, submit your 1 star review. ScotRail need a good kick in the conkers for this shit.

Edit2: Got my email an hour or so later, got logged in. It can find accurate train times, but can't find a single train to book.

What an absolute fucking shit-show.

Could they not have soft-launched a beta and then moved accounts over in tranches?

'Mansion tax' to double rates on Scotland's most expensive homes

Only affects properties worth more than £2mn? Which leads to the question of £2mn when? Today, or back in 1991 (2003 for Wales)? If today, are all houses getting revalued?

Given this will only raise £12mn-£16mn, reads like more performative legislating based on envy, rather than any really attempt to fix the problems that Scotland is facing.

CREATE. MORE. HOMES.

Just not like in Robroyston.

Where's our doctor, dentist, new school? The sprawling Glasgow suburb lacking basic amenities

Seems to be par for the course. This is all low density housing which pushes amenities outside the area and makes having a car important, especially if all the cul de sacs don't have pedestrian cut throughs, meaning you need to walk for ages to get anywhere.

I see so many other developments where the selling point is the proximity to the motorway junction and if you don't have a car, you are fucked.

Housing over retail - it's not rocket surgery.

'Reversing a cycle of decline': What does the future hold for Glasgow's buses?

Let's hope this works. The buses in Glasgow are an expensive joke of a service.

I'd also like to see unified ticketing like the Robin Hood card in Nottingham or Oyster in London.

Get Glasgow Moving
