[D&D5e]

Hi! I’m Ian - I create battlemaps for D&D under the name Tych Maps, primarily for use in Foundry VTT.

I’m looking to bring on someone to help rebuild and expand my existing modules. This is paid, ongoing work.

What You’d Be Doing

  • Updating existing Foundry modules from v13 → v14
  • Implementing Levels support (multi-floor scenes, stairs, transitions)
  • Cleaning up and optimizing walls and lighting
  • Adding doors, sound, and small usability improvements
  • Polishing scenes into a ready-to-run experience
  • Creating new scenes/modules from UVTT files where needed

Maps and scenes are based on:

  • Existing Tych Maps battlemaps
  • Universal VTT (UVTT) imports
  • Published D&D source material

Projects include:

  • Waterdeep: Dragon Heist (rebuild, multi-season module)
  • Dungeon of the Mad Mage (rebuild)
  • Waterdeep City (large-scale cleanup)
  • Baldur’s Gate City (new)
  • Expanded Waterdeep locations (new)

Workflow & expectations:

  • Work is highly repeatable and standardized
  • Strong emphasis on consistency across all scenes
  • Focus on clean, performant, ready-to-run output
  • Comfortable following established workflows and iterating on feedback

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Foundry VTT scene setup
  • Experience with Levels in v14 (or with former Levels module)
  • Confident with walls, lighting, and scene performance
  • Familiarity with module structure and compendiums
  • Able to work quickly and consistently across many scenes

Nice to have (not required):

  • Experience packaging or distributing Foundry modules
  • Light scripting / macros
  • Familiarity with DDB Importer or common Foundry modules

Work Structure & Pay

  • Part-time, freelance / contract
  • Paid work (per-module, open to discussion)
  • Flexible, async work
  • Initial paid test task to find a good fit
  • Ongoing work available for the right person

Payment via PayPal

How to Apply

Send me an email at tychmaps@gmail.com with:

  • A quick intro
  • Examples of Foundry scenes/modules you’ve worked on
  • What parts of Foundry you’re most comfortable with
  • Rough availability
  • Your time zone
  • Include the word “griffon” somewhere so I know you read the post.
