Looking for wireless headphones similar in shape to Beyerdynamic DT 770, under $500

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for headphone recommendations and would appreciate some advice. I currently use the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm plugged into a (DAC whose brand is not compliant with this subreddit and has Q and the number four in its name).

The cup shape/fit of the DT 770 is the most comfortable I have tried so far. I like the round/circular earcups, but I do not really enjoy the sound signature. I find them a bit too sharp, especially with “S” sounds in speech/videos. They also get a bit warm around my ears after longer sessions and has given me headaches when wearing them for say 4+ hours.

I do not do any professional audio work. My use case is roughly:

  • 60% work
  • 30% gaming, mostly non-competitive/single-player games
  • 10% media/music

My requirements/preferences:

  • Wireless
  • Preferably with a charging dock, similar to something like the Fractal Scape, but this is not mandatory
  • Round/circular earcups, similar in shape to the DT 770
  • As lightweight as possible
  • At least 20 hours battery life, preferably 30+ hours
  • More breathable/less heat buildup would be nice
  • I would prefer not to lose too much sound quality compared to my current DT 770 setup
  • Less isolation / being able to hear my surroundings would be nice, but it is not a hard requirement
  • Budget is around $500 USD max, but I am open to hearing about options slightly above budget if they are a strong fit
  • Location: United Arab Emirates

I am not very knowledgeable about audio, so I’m not sure if all of these requirements are realistic in this price range. Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Just upgraded to a Simjack UT from a G920. How do I make the clutch and the gas pedal require less force?

As the title says. I just upgraded and these are my first load cell pedals. I used the Simjack Config software to calibrate the pedals. I did not adjust any other settings. I found the accelerator and clutch pedals to be somewhat hard. I can still use them perfectly fine, its just it feels a little like leg day. The brake pedal is alright. It is definitely stiff and the travel is really short. But I find myself getting used to it more and more (tested for 15mins so far). Is there a way I can make the accelerator and clutch less stiff to press? Also is there a way to make the brake have more travel? For the brake, I calibrated it by just pressing until I got to 30kg shown in the software, but even then, my rig twists at 30kg+.

Also the clutch does not feel smooth. its like something is rubbing against it idk. Maybe its the way I have it mounted? not sure. I am using the NLR GT Racer 1.0

I would appreciate any advice or help on this.

Simjack UT and Generic Aliexpress Shifter reliability advice

Currently I have a G920 with a knock off OMP drift wheel on. Was looking into keeping the wheel (Then upgrading to Moza R9 or Simmagic Mini later) but upgrading the pedals and shifter now to the Simjack UT and Aliexpress 7+R hall sensor shifter. I’ve heard some great things about the pedals, however my main concern is reliability and longevity. Does anyone have experience with these pedals? Also one review said that the finish is rough so it’s recommended to use them with shoes and not socks. Was wondering about this too if maybe it’s a quality control issue or if the finish is actually not good.

Tbh I don’t want to spend a lot of money on sim stuff since it’s not my main thing and I’m not taking it super seriously with the intent of competing professionally one day or anything. Just some fun drifting and some touge racing and potentially LFM.

Also I have a NLR GTRacer 1.0 and I’m planning on getting the pedals with the base plate and the hydraulic dampeners or whatever they are.

I was told this map was beginner friendly. The car is the e46 330ci from the SUPERDRIFT pack. I was also told that the car was realistic for a street car. I would appreciate any advice on how to improve.

I think the drawback right now is my g920. I have a knockoff OMP dished wheel on it and it is a few years old now. I have to feed the wheel a lot. I have never drifted a car in real life so I do not know what is and isnt realistic. My only experience is offroading in the dunes. There is some "drifting" involved there but its different. I am planning to upgrade to a moza r9 in the future with the rest of the suite.
