Opinions on this used CX5?

Hello everyone,

I'm in the market for a used CX5. I currently drive a 2002 F150. It's got no AC, cruise control, only 2 seats, etc etc. I'm finally making a good wage, so I'd like to upgrade. I did the math and the loan for this one is totally in my budget.

I went and looked at a 2016 GT and unfortunately when I took it to a mechanic for a PPI, there were SO many issues, so I didn't end up getting it. Lots of electrical codes, needed an alignment, AC smelled like wet dog and couldn't even feel it. So I found a new one, and when I got the carfax for that one, it had 4 accidents even though the dealer's site listed none. So.. I found ANOTHER one.

This is the one I'm looking at: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicle/784357264
Carfax for it: https://www.carfax.com/vehiclehistory/ar20/S0-Nvt3z2oapiXZzziZF2Y1x--acHQsXOVh2QfM19xz9Q661ODWevRFqhuFec7XF8qrcM-j128dc4LhpYzg6Qju3jeeRZe3ogIY?s_id=&partner=TBD&et_id=

I wasn't looking for a Reserve one but it caught my eye and the Carfax is great. I guess I'm just worried about the mileage, but.. my truck had 112k when I bought it and it's been great. Granted.. it's older so it's pretty easy to work on.

I found another post talking about reliability here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CX5/comments/1eyi1ur/hi_former_mazda_master_tech_here/

Should I try to get one that doesn't have a turbo? I really like the features of this one, especially since I have kids. The heated seats would be nice, the vents in front seats would be amazing.. and the turbo would be fun. It'd be nice to drive something quick since I've been driving my old truck for like 7 years.

I have a friend who works for a dealership who's going to go with me to help with haggling/cutting through the salesman's BS (in case there is any).

Anyway, enough rambling I guess. What are yalls opinions?

Did find this one on Facebook. 2017 only 69k miles. https://www.facebook.com/share/17paC1YncX/

Should I buy this used Sorrento?

Good afternoon,

I work for a credit union and they're selling one of the Sorrentos that we use to drive up to the city. It's a 2019 Kia Sorrento. It does have the 4 cylinder engine which I've read a lot about. I'm still torn though because it seems like a good deal. KBB puts the value at 12k. They'll sell it for 10k and since I work there I get 1% off the APR and another .5% off for direct deposit and autopay or something.

I know the engine is a worry but I moved to Idaho from South Carolina and I drive a 2002 F150 right now. Its 2wd and manual. No AC, cruise control, backup camera, only 2 seats. The Kia has all of that plus steering wheel controls, AWD for the snow here would be really nice. it has 6 seats instead of 2. AC would be great lol. I was single when I moved here and now I'm married to a woman with 4 kids so the extra seats would be nice too.

With my credit the payments would be like 275 a month but I'm sitting here stressing about the stupid engine. Oh and it's got 85000 miles. It's almost exclusively used on the highway from here to Boise.

What do you guys think?

I'm looking on Facebook now. I don't wanna spend a ton per month so I still have money to work on debt. What SUVs are actually reliable around that year? I can't afford a brand new one and I know Toyota and Honda are both good but they're still expensive.

So I looked up reliable cars around this price range and so far it's been Honda pilot, Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, and Mazda cx5 but every one of those around me that I find for less than 15k has a rebuilt title. Maybe I should just suck it up and get the Kia and hope for the best.
