Trouble anchoring into wall

Hi, we installed a Billy bookcase and need to anchor it to the wall. We tried screwing it in and it kept coming loose. Is this an issue where we need to find the stud? Directions didnt say anything about that and no wall anchors were provided. I know this might be basic knowledge but it's our first time moving to a new place and assembling furniture.

Top part of incision opened up 5w post op

Hi guys,

About 5.5 wks post op and at my 4wk check up my surgeon said everything looked great, incisions are all closed and I should be good to start resuming normal activity. Well not sure what happened but two days ago, I noticed that the very top part of where my left incision ends (just shy of my armpit - it curves up) was leaking a tiny bit of white pus. I picked off the pus and now theres a little open wound about .5cm there. I've had bandaids on it for the past 2 days and it leaves a little yellow spot on the bandaid. Hasn't gotten worse or is swollen but that part is a little sore/tight now when it hadn't been before.

Is this significant enough to ask my surgeon about or is it probably ok do we think? has anyone else experienced this? Again not super concerned because it's tiny, smaller than my drain site wounds, and I expect it'll close up soon. Just looking for any advice. thx

Euphoria moment :)

had this realization while doing my daily scar massages: I enjoy taking care of my body now. Before top surgery, I saw my body kind of as a rental car-- not really mine, but something that could get me places in the interim. I used transtape and I'll admit I wasn't always the best in making sure no damage was done; I'd leave angry red marks all over my skin but didn't really care because it didn't feel like MY skin. but now?? I'm making sure I follow all my surgeon's directions, gently washing my scars by hand, and it brings me joy to do the little rubs up and down them each day, reminds me that they're mine, that I worked for this and finally my body feels like something I want to keep. No more rental :)

[pic is my chest 3.5 weeks post op. so so happy with results. dr. nima khavanin in DC, highly recommend if anyone is looking in the area]

Service tips before a long road trip?

I'm (24m) moving across the country in a month with my 2017 subaru. Prepping for a 16hr, 3 day road trip (about 6 hours per day) but I've never driven this much in my life and am a bit nervous.

I got my oil changed and tires rotated 3 months ago, and my battery replaced back in October. Car just passed state inspection. However, I want to make sure my trip goes as smoothly as possible. Are there any things I should get checked or serviced in addition to what has already been done? Like - coolant, etc? I don't know much about what is needed for long trips and also don't want to get ripped off by doing something unnecessary.

Thanks!

Journalled thru my first year on T :)

i wanted to share the little visual journal I've kept over the past year to document my changes! It's amazing seeing how far I've come and how my self-image has evolved. not a professional artist or anything, just like to sketch in my free time <3

Heated garage needed??

My partner and I are moving to Minneapolis from Maryland in a few months, and just landed a nice apartment :) We are excited to move but don't know exactly what to expect when it comes to the colder winters.

Our apartment has a heated garage for $150/month, or free street parking around the building. We are debating whether the garage is worth it for that fee... to folks who use street parking in the cold, what are the challenges/drawbacks? Would you say a heated garage is worth it for the peace of mind?

Also, any car related advice for the cold is much appreciated :) We are in our early 20s and this is our first big move. Thank you!
