Fuecapilar (Dr. Gur vs. Ms. Tugce Turan) for Diffuse Thinning? FUE vs DHI, Donor Strategy & Seborrheic Dermatitis
Hi everyone,
I'm planning my hair transplant for mid-December due to a 3-week work break, and I've narrowed it down to Fuecapilar.
My Situation & Strategy:
- Hair Loss Pattern: Diffuse thinning (mainly mid-scalp and frontal/hairline area). Family history points towards Norwood 5/6, and my loss is still ongoing.
- Meds: On topical Finasteride + Minoxidil for several months.
- Surgical Strategy: Conservative/natural hairline design. The focus will be strictly on the hairline and mid-scalp, leaving the crown almost untouched for now (relying on meds/future touch-ups).
- Body Hair Potential: I have very abundant beard and chest hair density, which I plan to keep as a backup reserve for future crown/vertex coverage if needed.
The Quotes & Packages Offered by Fuecapilar:
- Dr. Gur (Standard Package - Sapphire FUE): Quoted 2,500 - 3,000 grafts in 1 single day. Available in December. Dr. Gur personally makes the channel incisions with a Sapphire blade, while technicians handle extraction and placement.
- Ms. Tugce Turan (Standard Package - DHI): Quoted 3,000 - 3,500 grafts over 2 days. Available in December. She personally implants the grafts using Choi Implanter Pens (DHI).
- Dr. Dogan Turan (Premium DHI): Quoted 3,000 - 3,500 grafts over 2 days, but only available in February. (This doesn't fit my work schedule, so I prefer December unless choosing him is an absolute must).
My Questions for the Community:
- Graft Count & 1-Day FUE Safety: Is a 2,500–3,000 graft quote reasonable for a conservative hairline + mid-scalp rebuild in a diffuse thinner with Norwood 5/6 family history? Is extracting/implanting 3,000 grafts via Sapphire FUE in a single day safe for donor preservation, or is spreading it over 2 days (like DHI) significantly better?
- Diffuse Thinning (FUE vs. DHI): I am terrified of transection and shock loss to my existing native hairs. Is Sapphire FUE safe enough for diffuse thinning when an experienced doctor (Dr. Gur) personally opens the channels, or should I strictly choose DHI (Ms. Tugce) to protect native hair?
- Dr. Gur Standard vs. Ms. Tugce Turan: For those with experience at Fuecapilar, who would you choose for diffuse thinning? Is Dr. Gur doing the incisions enough to guarantee a great natural result, or is Ms. Tugce handling the entire DHI placement better for density and native hair safety?
- Seborrheic Dermatitis: I have mild Seborrheic Dermatitis that flares up occasionally (redness/scaling, especially after shaving my head). I manage it with a topical corticosteroid cream when needed. Will this pose a risk to graft survival or the healing process?
Would love to hear your honest feedback, especially from diffuse thinners or past Fuecapilar patients! Thanks in advance!
