Transplant Prices in USA $1/graft

I keep reading posts here about people paying $2-$2.50+ per graft and that's crazy. Those are prices I saw years ago, and what prevented me from getting a transplant.

My husband and I just had hair transplants done at a place called Solee Cosmetic Surgery about 8 months ago and I couldn't be happier. It's been something I wanted to do for 15 years, I searched to find a place that wasn’t 10-15K for a transplant in the US, and I finally found it.

I’m simply sharing this because for 15 years I was told I needed to go outside of the US, to Turkey, Colombia or India to not pay 10-15K for a hair transplant. I am from the US and it was very discouraging because yes, I am saving money, but what happens if after the transplant, when you go back home something goes wrong?  Get back on a plane to get it fixed?  This was a major concern for me, personally.

I found an ad for Solee and it was $1 per graft. At first I was like, yea ok, sure - what's the catch? Nothing. It was a really great experience for me, the place is pristine, the staff and doctors were great. Megan was the NP who oversees the transplants, and the techs were actually from Turkey! From start to finish it was amazing, they still follow up with me to check in. I saved so much money, my husband got one too!

Highly suggested for anyone in the US that is thinking about getting a hair transplant, and not wanting to travel outside the US.

WANT HAIR UK - Liv Harley Street Hospital

My 3,488-graft FUE experience with Want Hair / Liv Harley Street Hospital – what I wish I knew before booking

I’m posting this because I wish I had found a detailed account like this before booking my transplant.

I had a 3,488-graft FUE hair transplant in July 2025, arranged through Want Hair and carried out at Liv Harley Street Hospital / The Harley Street Hospital.

My main concern was my crown. Before booking, I sent photographs and specifically said: “I only need the crown done, brow done two years ago.”

I was also worried about who would actually perform the procedure. Before booking, I specifically asked about the surgeon’s involvement and was told in writing that the surgeon would do the surgical aspects of the transplant.

That reassurance mattered to me.

On the day, a treatment design was produced and 3,488 grafts were recorded. During the procedure I was told they could not fit any more grafts into my crown and that the remaining grafts would therefore be placed further forward to create density.

Three technicians were substantially involved in carrying out the transplant. I do not recall being clearly informed beforehand that this would be the delivery model, being told who they were, or being given information about their qualifications and experience.

I also have photographs taken immediately after leaving the clinic and over the following days, when the recipient sites were still clearly visible. Those photographs provide a contemporaneous record of where the grafts were actually placed.

As the transplant matured, I repeatedly raised concerns about the crown and the developing result. I followed the advice to wait rather than judge the outcome too early.

It is now around 13 months later and I remain extremely dissatisfied with the crown result.

Want Hair’s position has been that I should wait 18 months. However, independent hair-transplant professionals I have consulted have advised me that while some further maturation can occur, the result at around 12 months is generally representative of the eventual outcome. I am now obtaining independent professional assessments in writing regarding the original planning, graft distribution and result.

I made a formal complaint and requested a refund or compensation. Neither Want Hair nor Liv Harley Street Hospital has offered me a refund or compensation.

I have also referred my concerns regarding the doctor involved to the General Medical Council. I’m not suggesting the GMC has made any finding; I have referred the matter so that the appropriate regulator can consider it.

One of the biggest lessons for me has been to independently investigate the people and organisations involved rather than relying mainly on marketing, reviews and impressive before-and-after photographs.

I checked the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS) membership directory and could not find Want Hair or the doctor who performed my procedure listed as members.

If I were booking again, I would insist on written answers to these questions before paying:

  • Who will actually perform each stage of the procedure?
  • Who will extract the grafts?
  • Who will create the recipient sites?
  • Who will implant the grafts?
  • Will technicians perform substantial parts of the procedure?
  • Who are they and what are their qualifications?
  • How many grafts are actually intended for the area I specifically want treated?
  • What happens if the agreed plan changes during surgery?

This experience has cost me more than the £3,194 treatment price, including travel, recovery, time away from work, and a huge amount of time and stress pursuing the matter afterwards.

I have retained the contract, WhatsApp correspondence, treatment design/clinical record, pre-op photos, immediate post-op photos, current photos and complaint correspondence.

I’m posting this so other people researching Want Hair or Liv Harley Street Hospital know the questions I wish I had asked before booking.

Based on my treatment, the result and the way my concerns have been handled, I would not choose either provider again.

Need opinion about hair transplant.

I’m 34 years old. Over the years since I was idk like 16 I have had my hair exactly like this. It’s never changed. Problem is my hair went from when I was 10 years old a full set even in the crown area to what you see now and that’s all I did. Thinking about getting 3500 grafts done since that’s what they said I needed. My issue is does it last forever? How long does it last?

Fuecapilar (Dr. Gur vs. Ms. Tugce Turan) for Diffuse Thinning? FUE vs DHI, Donor Strategy & Seborrheic Dermatitis

Hi everyone,

I'm planning my hair transplant for mid-December due to a 3-week work break, and I've narrowed it down to Fuecapilar.

My Situation & Strategy:

  • Hair Loss Pattern: Diffuse thinning (mainly mid-scalp and frontal/hairline area). Family history points towards Norwood 5/6, and my loss is still ongoing.
  • Meds: On topical Finasteride + Minoxidil for several months.
  • Surgical Strategy: Conservative/natural hairline design. The focus will be strictly on the hairline and mid-scalp, leaving the crown almost untouched for now (relying on meds/future touch-ups).
  • Body Hair Potential: I have very abundant beard and chest hair density, which I plan to keep as a backup reserve for future crown/vertex coverage if needed.

The Quotes & Packages Offered by Fuecapilar:

  • Dr. Gur (Standard Package - Sapphire FUE): Quoted 2,500 - 3,000 grafts in 1 single day. Available in December. Dr. Gur personally makes the channel incisions with a Sapphire blade, while technicians handle extraction and placement.
  • Ms. Tugce Turan (Standard Package - DHI): Quoted 3,000 - 3,500 grafts over 2 days. Available in December. She personally implants the grafts using Choi Implanter Pens (DHI).
  • Dr. Dogan Turan (Premium DHI): Quoted 3,000 - 3,500 grafts over 2 days, but only available in February. (This doesn't fit my work schedule, so I prefer December unless choosing him is an absolute must).

My Questions for the Community:

  1. Graft Count & 1-Day FUE Safety: Is a 2,500–3,000 graft quote reasonable for a conservative hairline + mid-scalp rebuild in a diffuse thinner with Norwood 5/6 family history? Is extracting/implanting 3,000 grafts via Sapphire FUE in a single day safe for donor preservation, or is spreading it over 2 days (like DHI) significantly better?
  2. Diffuse Thinning (FUE vs. DHI): I am terrified of transection and shock loss to my existing native hairs. Is Sapphire FUE safe enough for diffuse thinning when an experienced doctor (Dr. Gur) personally opens the channels, or should I strictly choose DHI (Ms. Tugce) to protect native hair?
  3. Dr. Gur Standard vs. Ms. Tugce Turan: For those with experience at Fuecapilar, who would you choose for diffuse thinning? Is Dr. Gur doing the incisions enough to guarantee a great natural result, or is Ms. Tugce handling the entire DHI placement better for density and native hair safety?
  4. Seborrheic Dermatitis: I have mild Seborrheic Dermatitis that flares up occasionally (redness/scaling, especially after shaving my head). I manage it with a topical corticosteroid cream when needed. Will this pose a risk to graft survival or the healing process?

Would love to hear your honest feedback, especially from diffuse thinners or past Fuecapilar patients! Thanks in advance!

My FUE hair transplant experience with Dr Parissis – 3,070 grafts

I recently had an FUE hair transplant with Dr Mondrian Parissis in Richmond, London.
I was mainly looking for a very natural hairline rather than just maximum density, and Dr Parissis spent a lot of time discussing the design and what would look natural long term.
I had around 3,070 grafts implanted, including a large number of single-hair grafts for the frontal hairline. The procedure went really well and both Dr Parissis and his team were great throughout the day.
I’m only at the very early post-op stage at the moment, so obviously I can’t comment on the final result yet. I’ve attached some of my post-op photos and I’ll update this post again around the 6-month mark with progress photos.
So far, I’m very happy with the experience and really grateful to Dr Parissis and his team.

Hair Transplant suggestions

Whats up everyone, I'm looking for some guidance as to what is the best clinic to go to for me.I'm black, 24, and living in Hartford, CT. Not rich but can afford a transplant, just not really in the u.s. I have looked at mexico, turkey and padra clinic in Toronto my current number 1 based of price(3600usd) and not that far. Obviously Heva seems to be the most popular place my only catch is the flight. My hair isnt in awful shape but its slowly going. My consultantion with Padra clinic had me at about 3000 grafts. I am looking to do this next may or June. All help is appreciated!!

Can a hair transplant fix hair lost due to lichen planopilaris

I unknowingly went through the lichen disease and lost hair around my one side of my hairline which now looks like male pattern baldness. It's said that hair loss from this is irreversable and my doctor suggested minoxidil but I don't want a lifelong and fragile treatment.

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and that if a hair transplant is a better option. Thanks

Should I get a transplant for my hairline and crown?

I’ve been on oral monoxodile / finestaride for about five years — no real regrowth and some mild thinning since but mostly stable.

I’m already in Turkey and have some time off so was thinking about getting the procedure. I was quoted about 2800-3200 grafts for my hairline and crown, but am debating getting it — don’t know if the risk would be worth it considering the hair is decent.

Would love some thoughts from anyone who has seen results from a similar looking hairline.

Heva Clinic transformation

Hey guys I posted photos of my hair transplant that I did with Heva Clinic back in February of this year. I’m in the middle of month 6 and I can tell you that i am very pleased with the results and it’s not even 12 months yet. The first photo is before the hair transplant and the last two photos is current. I’m currently take Hims topical, biotin, Nutrafol which I’m going to quit and vitamins. I have not had a full haircut since last year December. My barber only cuts my beard for work but I will get my first haircut next month. If you are on the fence JUST DO IT. I’m already a confident guy before the transplant but now this just added to it lol.

Pre transplant scalp feelings

I’ve always felt the top of my head, sometimes itchy or tingly or just somewhat dead or dull feeling. Hard to explain, not dandruff, I just feel my bald spot. Is that normal? I’m going for a transplant in two months and my doctor has been great giving me time and describing what he’ll do but not so great as far as understanding my questions, and quick to say all is ok. Any thoughts? Subconscious or is my scalp not lively?
