Looking for my kind of people 🫠

Is there anyone else who somehow connects everything to patriarchy and consumerism? 😭

Like… anti fast fashion, against racism, misogyny, religious discrimination, capitalism/consumerism, questioning social norms, trying to be vegan (or already vegan), and generally just very tired of all the shitty things society normalizes.

I’m trying to find people who actually like talking about these things without it turning into a debate every five seconds 😭

I feel like I’m having a hard time finding people who think similarly, so… where are you all hiding? 👀

What does “don’t expect anything except placements” actually mean?

Genuine question 😭

Like if classes get over early or there's a 2-3 hour gap between classes, what do ppl actually do? Do you just sit in the canteen/library, go home, study, work on societies/projects, hang out with friends or is there actually stuff happening around campus?

I've also heard so many seniors say "don't expect anything from this college except placements."

What does that actually mean?

I know our college is small, but what are the things we're not supposed to expect here?

Like regular events, active societies, ppl hanging out after classes, random jamming/dancing/sports, good campus life, opportunities outside academics, professors being involved beyond classes etc.

I'm genuinely asking because I came in with a certain idea of what college would be like and rn I'm trying to understand what the reality actually is 😭

Seniors, what did you expect when you joined vs what did you actually get?

And what do you wish someone had told you in first year?

A girls’ college, and yet the same misogynistic songs

I attended Hypnotics’ dance society orientation today and honestly, people were dancing and having the time of their lives. It was really fun to watch, especially because I suck at dancing and definitely don’t have the courage to perform in front of that many people 😭

But there was one thing that kept bothering me — the number of misogynistic songs being played.

And maybe this is just me, but even being in a girls’ college, there are moments when you suddenly get that feeling again — that the world was not really made for you, and that women are constantly being reduced to objects in the name of “entertainment.”

I know people can separate a song from its lyrics/artist, and I’m not trying to tell anyone what they’re allowed to enjoy. But personally, I find it difficult to just ignore what we’re collectively singing and dancing to.

Because when we repeatedly celebrate songs that objectify women, aren’t we also, in some small way, normalising the system behind them?

And honestly, I feel like a girls’ college has a unique opportunity here.

We could choose music that makes us feel powerful, happy, chaotic, romantic, dramatic — literally anything — without having to accept misogyny as the default.

Maybe we could even make a statement by choosing not to platform artists/songs that openly degrade women.

I’m genuinely curious what other people think about this. Am I overthinking it, or is this something worth talking about?..

first year student trying to make some money before my bank account dies 😭

okay so I’m trying to make some money as a first year student instead of constantly being broke 💀

I’m open to doing small paid work like:

🎬 basic video editing / reels

🎨 Canva / posters / basic designs

📊 PPTs (making them look less boring hopefully)

📄 typing + formatting documents

✍🏻 proofreading / fixing basic English

🤖 AI stuff / AI-generated content

I’m still learning so I’m obviously not charging ₹5000 for making a PPT 😭

Prices will be reasonable/student-friendly.

Also if you have some random small task that isn't on this list, just ask. If I don’t know how to do it, I can probably learn it 👀

DM me with the work + deadline + your budget and we’ll figure it out :)

pls no “do it for exposure” I’m trying to escape the broke allegations 😭

Calling seniors "didi" feels risky... 💀

What are we supposed to call seniors in college?

By their name?? Or "didi"??

The problem is... calling someone "didi" feels weird because what if I end up getting a crush on a senior later?? 😭

What do people usually do??

Anyone neurodivergent at IGDTUW?

I feel like I might be neurodivergent. I'm not self-diagnosing though. I wanna get a proper assessment once college starts because I couldn't do it earlier due to lack of awareness and a conservative family.

I just wanted to know... how open is IGDTUW about all this?

Are there people who are neurodivergent and open about it? Is it something people talk about, or do they mostly keep it to themselves? Is the environment accepting?

Just trying to know what to expect before college starts :)

Question for the bisexual girls at IGDTUW...

I'm joining IGDTUW this year and I think I might be bisexual. Is the campus generally queer-friendly? Are there LGBTQ+ students or communities? You can DM me if you're not comfortable commenting publicly.

Why not hate men ??

I (19 years old ) was with cousin 13 year old ,, I was talkin on call,, then 3 guy (18 or 19 y) on bike stoped and said something to my cousin,, immediatly.. I cut the call asked her. what did they said ? they were there in front of me ,, she said they said ,, namaste,, then I stare at them then they were gone..

I keep thinking i should have done things differently i should have yelled at them or something..

And i refuse to not go there just because of these creeps...

“A College Without a Voice Is Not Empowerment "

To the seniors who tell juniors to “adjust because this is how things work here” — ask yourself: who benefits when students stop questioning?

A women’s college should be a space where women learn leadership, not a place where we are trained to accept problems quietly.

A student council, safer surroundings, accountability, and a better campus culture are not “extra demands.” They are basic expectations.

The next batch deserves better than “We survived, so you should too.”
