Is this intentionally a Canadian sub? Are we intending to keep it this way? Because I can gtfo if that’s what the maple leaves want. Or maybe I’ll stay and make things a bit more liberated 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅 btw not sure if yall heard it’s our 250th birthday yesterday
Update: I’m ready to call a truce. Now that we know you’re all Canadians, cover me in syrup and bring out the CN pictures. I’m all here for it

I know the topic of grade-separate BRT (I'll call it GSBRT) has been discussed, however have we considered the flexibility and creativity this can provide?
LA needs among other things (1) more public tranist (2) More bike lanes...
Trains are the obvious solution when we talk about(1), however building the lines takes years and costs more money than GSBRT (and does not integrate with LA's current car culture).
On the other hand GSBRT can integrate a bike lane (which can be further grade separated, or at least divided by a wall), and offers a much more flexible solution to the city. As AI and self driving cars become cheaper and better, a circular non-changing route without any competing traffic is an autonomous vehicles' fantasy.
Special interest groups such as Waymo and any AI driving car company could further fund the project. instead of a single bus opperated by a driver, riders can hop on bus caravans that are automatically synced and account for distance between each other.
TLDR The possibilities are flexible and limitless, and the barrier to entry is lower. Meanwhile rail is rigid, inflexible, expensive, and honestly just doesn't work in LA (D line smells like piss, the Tap card system sucks, homeless people call the underground their home).
Perhaps a controversial topic in a sub of people demanding trains, and I too demanded trains for a long time, but I've been having some eye opening thoughts on this one.

Edit: I am beyond excited for the current planned extensions of rail, but I'm questioning if further expansion should be rail v.s. bus. Would love to hear thoughts
