AC rouge FA applicant pls give me hope

Hello! this is like my third time applying for the FA position with rouge and I need some advice/hope lol.

The first time I was randomly invited to a recruitment event in Nov 2025 and I got pretty nervous when answering questions so i'm sure thats why I bombed the first one, second time I went to the bilingual recruitment event in May 2026 but my issue is my second language is Bangla (not a route language) and i'm in the process of learning french which would technically be considered my third language but i still struggle with it conversationally (which is what they want during interviews) but I just feel so slow trying to put together sentences for a natural conversation but i've continued to try to learn it and get comfortable but nonetheless I still bombed the second event due to my tragic attempt to answer a question in french. The best I can do is ask service questions in french, i.e voulez-vous thé ou café? Attachez vos cientures s.v.p, etc and I can read french and sound fluent following a script.

This third time I have a rougee mutual who I met during that first AC event reach out to me and offer to be a referral, he sent me all the info and whatnot for me to apply, but with my language dilemma do I really have any hope lolz or should I just be prepared for a third rejection because of my crappy efforts at french. (I've also reiterated my comittment and efforts to increase my proficiency in french in my resume + interviews because I know AC offers french language classes for those wanting to enhance their language skills if they already have a second language which I technically do and I am most definitely interested in those classes)

Same thing with Air Transat, I have someone who is willing to put in a referral for me at AT when they start recruiting again in Oct/Nov, which will only secure a phone interview which I didn't even get when I first applied in Jan. But from speaking to previous AT FA's my understanding is if you're hired they give you 6 months to increase your proficiency in French and provide you with Rosetta's stone and a french tutor and then test you again but i'm quite literally fighting for my life with this language obstacle 😩 no matter where I apply for FA.

Also background information - I am a recent grad of the Flight services program from Seneca College and so I know what to expect in terms of training and attitude and behaviour and I also have 10+ years of Customer service experience so I know for a fact I am most certainly overqualified and I also just wrapped up working with Porter Airlines for 4 months as a CSR for my field placement so I already have security clearence (and yes Porter airlines is also hiring for FA but they want C1/C2 level french I was rejected so fast lol) and my only biggest obstable is this language requirement. I also had one of my classsmates just get hired by Rouge literally in the middle of our last semester and her languages are Hindi and Punjabi and I keep thinking that it should have also been me with her as welllll 😭 Someone pls look at the passions in my eye for this career and have pity on me I am on my knees begging at this point but the evil french assessment is my one true enemy.

Do "unilinguals"/non-route language speakers really have no hope as cabin crew in Canada these days, do my hopes and dreams in aviation stop at being a gate agent?
