F20+ First time meeting a long-distance older guy friend in person—need advice!

Hey everyone, I could really use some guidance. I'm meeting a guy friend of 11 months for the first time this month when he visits. He's 10+ years older than me. We're just planning a casual meetup rather than an actual date, and while he tells me he loves me, he has never mentioned marriage.

Since this is my first time ever meeting a guy friend alone, I'm super nervous and feeling a bit lost:

Should I bring him a small gift or welcome token?

How should we handle paying when we hang out (should I offer to pay or split)?

Any general safety or vibe tips for a first-time in-person meeting?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Graduated with a Sociology degree and want to break into banking is it possible and how do I get hired?

Hey everyone,

I graduated with a Bachelor's in Sociology without a clear career plan, but now I am fully ready to work and eager to learn. Banking has caught my interest as a field I'd like to build a career in, but I'm struggling to break through.

I could really use some advice on a few things:

Is banking a realistic path for a sociology major, and what entry-level roles should I target?

How can I actually get selected and hired since my background isn't in finance or commerce? (I've been actively applying, but applications often get ignored or stall after interviews).

What specific skills, certifications, or resume strategies can I use to bridge the gap and prove I'm ready?

Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated!

22F, stuck at home with zero social media and no friends—how do I actually start adulting and fix this?

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here.

I’m 22, and I feel completely stuck. I graduated recently, and my daily life is basically confined to staying at home. To make things harder for myself, I don't use any social media (no Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok), and as a result, I have zero friends or social circle outside my immediate family.

It gets painfully lonely, and the isolation makes trying to figure out the next steps in life feel overwhelming. On top of wanting to build a social life from scratch, I desperately need to find a better job so I can get out of the house, gain some independence, and start moving forward.

If anyone has been in a similar boat or has practical advice on how to break this cycle, I’d love to hear it.
