Things I've seen different authors say:

- it contains poisonous gas for medical reasons; he's most comfortable breathing the air of his home planet

- it contains poisonous gas as an act of self-hatred, because he's punishing himself

- his lungs were damaged fighting Necrare, the rebreather is for supplemental oxygen/medicine (my favorite theory. he's just like me fr)

- it's because his legion relies so heavily on chemical warfare

The writers also can't agree on what he looks like (i've seen him described as bald, dark-haired, and white-haired depending on who the author is, although it seems like eventually they did collectively settle on long dark hair) so I'm curious if anything is more canon than anything else.

I've started reading the Black Library books (the Horus Heresy ones first) and I really love the Remembrancers. I think they're such a cool concept, a really neat cultural contrast to the Space Marines, and it's neat to see artists just Doing Artist Stuff and Having Artist Beef in this surrealist forever war far future setting. I've heard after you read the first 5 books of the Horus Heresy, you can kind of jump around. Are there any books that are largely about Remembrancers doing their thing?

(Also, I know the Imperium disbanded the Remembrancer Corps. But wouldn't it be cool if Chaos still had them? I feel like getting a bunch of ambitious, deranged people in one place to try to outdo each other in depicting unearthly beauty is very Emperor's Children.)

sorry if this is unclear, haven’t been sleeping great. I have a weird skin condition where any light, including lightbulbs, causes burning pain and swelling that lasts for days. I can’t go outside until 8 PM in my time zone and I can’t have the lights on. I don’t know what to do that would be screen-free, so I’ve just been writing stories and chatting on Discord (dark mode of course.) I wish I could read a book or do crafts, but I’m not sure how I would be able to do those without turning a light on.

I want to make a game about monsters or weird boys, (if anyone knows the game Homicipher, that kind of vibe) and so far it seems like itch dot io only has character portrait packs of cute anime girls. Obviously since this is my first time making a VN and just for my portfolio, I don't want to spend too much money, so premade it is.

Other than Itch, where are good places to buy VN assets?
