Last week, Janine did a Zutara power couple art. Today, she posted a beautiful art of Katara, exploring her Fire Queen concept with different outfit designs. I’ve personally really been enjoying the berry-red and azure colour scheme, and the crowned water symbol of these designs.
This Zuko early concept art by jake.panian.art is goated (ha!) because it retained his features from the original show. Like, this is the most Zuko adult Zuko has looked.
Just worked my way through sansonnets Bluetaraverse and it blew me away. In many ways, it’s exactly the type of story that I love: Katara catches feelings first; forced proximity; expanding on their lore and on world history (I liked how the author expanded on >!Zuko’s martial training, and then on Hama and the rest of imprisoned waterbenders!<); Z&K travel together separately from the rest of the cast; they have conflict between the two of them, but their arguments never feel mean-spirited or spiteful, even when angry and even petty, the two of them try to understand each other; and when they get together, it’s very sweet. (“>!His eyes were much happier than a few minutes ago. It made her beam at him. She adored making him happy.!<”)
It felt like the author not only genuinely loved the ship, but also loved greatly both Zuko and Katara individually as characters, and was treating them both with equal affection throughout the story. (This is a mental reminder to myself to go write the author a long, supportive review to show my appreciation of their work.)
I wanted to see if anyone has other fic recommendations that have the specific niche premise of “Zutara travel together and become close because of that, either prior to season three or during season three”?
Similar fics that come to mind are Collide (currently paused my reading of it to catch my breath), Rescue Me, Unlikely Alliance, Actions of Children (kinda? they are not really travelling alone, but close enough).
Nothing beats the impeccable vibes of bickering Momtara and Dadko serving as parental units to their gaggle of friends feral children at Western Air Temple, only to become suspiciously in sync at Ember Island. 🙂↕️

The other day, I decided to measure canon Gaang’s heights in relation to one another and found that Zutara have the perfect one-head-taller height difference between them! 😍 They are so cute, Zuko can really just stand behind Katara and rest his chin on top of her head. 🥺
The heights are listed in descending order, from tallest to shortest: Aang > Zuko > Sokka > Katara > Toph. I do feel vindicated, I always knew adult Zuko would be close to Sokka in height, but just a bit taller (I think in the new film, it’s either an inch or inch-and-a-half); and not the other way around. Idk why it mattered to me, but it did. I wish we also got adult Suki design to compare, but I think she would be around Katara’s height, maybe a bit taller.
edit: Now that I look at it, I also think Zuko might have a long-legs, short-torso body type. His belt sits at roughly the same height as Aang’s, despite Aang being taller than him, and the belt line for both of them is noticeably higher than Sokka’s. Zuko, my statuesque, leggy king.
Yesterday I received an offer for PayPal+ to place 4 orders for £75+ and receive 1000 points. The offer would last for 21 days after activation and according to the banner, would be valid to activate until 15/1 (15th of January, I presume).
I was like “okay, gonna activate tomorrow because I have to pay bills tomorrow and then in two weeks, so this should fit within the 21 days window.” Today, the offer is gone. I contacted PayPal to see if they can activate it on their end, but they say my account never had such an offer and are gaslighting me that I must have missed the offer activation date (there are only so many ways to read 15/1 on the offer when yesterday was 5th of August, a date that does not have a single 1 in it).
The offer will probably come back, these things are circular, but it is annoying that it happened. Anyone has any idea why?
July is my birthday month, so Superbuy issued me a coupon and some points, which is very nice of them. However, the message says there will also be a E-Birthday Card that will be emailed to me on my birthday? I need to post my parcel asap (today, I hope) and I can't wait a week more to get that card… I was wondering, does the card come with another discount, or is it just a nice message from them? I can't really find anything in my email pertaining to that from last year. I'd appreciate some help. Thank you.
