Million Dollar Minion is such a fun song. Sure, Rich Minion is more iconic but the new one feels more alive. I feel like the best yeat songs are made when yeat stops trying to attach a deeper meaning than there really is and just has fun with it. I’ll use ADL as an example, in MY opinion, he tried too hard to give some deeper meaning to the album which gave it that Kai Cenat reading a book vibe and in turn it ruined it for me. Sure 2093 is more introspective than anything else he’s done and it was good, but I think that was partly because it was a novel concept for him which really pushed his passion for the project. A lot of the stuff he put out after 2093 just feels like he’s trying to emulate what 2093 did, but it keeps falling flat.

The beat, the adlibs, the whole premise of a minion song is just goofy; there is no seriousness to it, and that’s what makes it such a fun song to listen to. The lyrics don’t mean anything and that’s okay because I can just turn my brain off and put my windows down and just enjoy the vibe while pretending to be That Minion. The reason I like Million Dollar Minion more than the original is because it scratches that summer vibe.

He also finally stopped using his screechy vocal chain and singing voice and it actually feels soothing when he hits those high notes.

TL;DR we’re never getting the old yeat back, those comparisons carry no weight. The best case scenario is Yeat turns his overthinker off and just has fun with it. You can feel when a song is authentic and when it’s forced for the sake of sounding different.
