Are the PE bulkhead this terrible on the old AF A350-900?

Looking for feedback from people who have been in the bulkhead row on the old config A350-900 with the bathrooms right in front of it (the new ones are not configured like this). Aerolopa indicates basically to avoid the entire row of bulkhead seats and I am wondering about experience from people who have actually sat in them? This is a daytime flight so I am not worried about noise or sleeping indications per se…more about legroom and not being reclined into. I mean. Being near a bathroom is generally gross but sometimes there is plenty of space that makes it ok enough.

Hi there! So. I know old planes are safe. And I know they use them because they are paid off. But, 33 years (almost 34!) seems like it’s nearing the end of its life, no? 😂
I have flown this plane a few times on this route and it’s SO loud. I wonder how the FAs can tolerate that crazy. When might they retire a plane like this?

Worst experience ever

I’ve been traveling for 45 years and have clocked a lot of miles. What happened today was NUTS with my first trip on Icelandair.
I bought these tickets in July last year. Bought extra legroom seats in January. Showing up in the app just fine.
Until I checked in last night…suddenly my seats disappeared and it said we didn’t have a seat assignment so we needed to meet with a gate agent to get a seat assignment.
I called this morning and Icelandair said that I was confined in seats B and C row 8. No problem. Not to worry and that the agent would give us boarding passes.
I show up early to Newark and, lo and behold, I don’t have seats. Not only do I not have the seats I paid $180 for (and no, there was no equipment swap)…but I was told I was on standby and at the bottom of the list. Honestly, the agents were so nice and did their best to but they were also like…this is nuts…they sold you seats and then sold your seats to other people. I have the receipt of course. They told us to call Iceland air to see if they would get us on a flight out of JFK that night!
Called and waited 1 hour and 28 minutes to speak with someone who said that yes, I paid for those seats and they are confirmed to us so that we need to work with the agents to get our seats. I asked to speak to a manager and eventually got disconnected. So that went well.
The wonderful agents got us on the flight which was oversold by 5 seats but a few people didn’t make a connection.
But this absolutely sucks and now filing a claim will take weeks to get my money back. Never again. And beware if your seat assignment suddenly disappears. You’re screwed and calling won’t help.
