My only coping mechanism seems to be humor and/or complete dissociation from life.

You know your depression management isn't going well when your therapist offers you the option to call them without an appointment or fee. You know, just in case you, "feel like you need someone to talk to."

In all seriousness, I appreciate their gesture, but knowing me I don't think I'd ever be able to take advantage of that offer.

Cycling training question

Hello, I'm about to complete an 8 week training block (aimed at improving my FTP) and I've been getting steadily worse performance-wise as the block has progressed. I'm struggling to maintain my power numbers, and I've failed 4 key workouts during this block.

Do you all have any advice?

For context, I started working on this goal to improve my FTP last November, and I was having really good progress until this last 8 week block.

I did 3 complete rest days from Monday to Wednesday of this week. Plus, I did some gym on Thursday morning (otherwise I took the rest of Thursday off). I then tried to do an indoor session on Friday, but it was a complete failure of a session.

Despite taking those three rest days, I still feel kind of tired. I've also developed some upper back discomfort recently as well. Finally, I've also kind of been slacking on my lower body gym work the last few weeks (so maybe that's a component).

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks all.
