Renault Zoe rear door edge caused a head injury — has anyone else experienced this?

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for advice and also raise a safety concern with other Renault Zoe owners.

My wife was taking things out of our Zoe and, while in a hurry, accidentally hit her head on the edge/corner area of the rear door. Unfortunately, she got injured and had to go to A&E. The doctors are looking after her and, as a precaution, they said they will do a CT scan of her head and urine tests to make sure everything is okay. Thankfully, at the moment there are no major signs of anything worse, but we are still waiting for the checks to be completed.

This incident made me think more seriously about the safety of this area. I have also banged my own head on the same area a few times before, but never thought much about it until this happened.

I’m not blaming Renault or saying the car is unsafe — accidents can happen — but I’m wondering if other Zoe owners have experienced anything similar or have any advice on making this area safer (for example padding, protectors, adjustments, or any solutions).

Has anyone contacted Renault about something like this, or found a way to reduce the risk of hitting this edge?
Thanks everyone.
