I built a tool to help patients keep up during telehealth visits. What would make you not use it?

My friend has spent a lot of time in doctor’s appointments and kept running into the same problem, so I built an app around it. I’m starting to let more people try it and would love some honest feedback from people who have telehealth visits.

My friend was diagnosed with stage three cancer at 17. During treatment, his mom basically became his note taker. She still has around a dozen notebooks from his appointments. My friend has said there was always so much information, and he and his mom often had no idea what questions they could or should be asking.

He's more than 10 years in remission now, but he still see a lot of specialists and still in every 20-min visit he's trying to pay attention to the doctor, take notes, look up or ask for more explanations on stuff he doesn’t know, and think of questions all at the same time.

My doctors' visits are not as intense as his but I have had similar experiences for simpler annual checkups, asking about heart disease risks and requesting specific blood tests, and trying to get an ortho to see if I tore anything in my knee or shoulder.

So I built a tool that runs during a visit. It explains medical terms as they come up, suggests questions you might want to ask, and afterward gives you what happened, next steps, questions, and definitions in one place.

The idea is really just to make it easier to listen to the doctor without also trying to keep track of everything yourself.

If you have a telehealth appointment coming up and want to try it, you can get access here: https://openhand.health.

Mostly just looking for specifics: what works, what doesn’t, what features could be helpful, and what would make you not use something like this?

Seating recommendation

Hi all, I'm looking to replace my old theater seating. I want all 8 seats to last 15+ years.

  • 2 rows of 4 seats each. Each row 112-120" wide at max so that it fits on our risers.
  • Ideally full leather everywhere or some setup where we won't get cracking/peeling.
  • The cushion and back need to stay supportive and comfortable 15+ years in. Foam density of >=2.0 with ILD of ~28-35
  • Ideally ~$10k total (willing to flex up only for full leather / something we're really sure will last much longer)

We have currently 2 rows of Palliser Pacifico, 4 seats each, (center loveseat configuration).

Like this: || O || O O || O ||

|| - arm rest, O - seat.

We got leather on seating areas with bonded leather elsewhere - was a mistake b/c the bonded stuff peeled even on the seats where no one has ever sat. Peeling started probably 8 years in, and the foam became quite bad a year later or so. A few seats get used every other day at this point. I think back in 2012-2013 we paid like $5k total or something for all 8 seats. Now if I were to buy the same thing it seems to be $7k for 4 seats lol, and more if I want full leather everywhere. We've made it last ~14 years b/c we swapped the unused seats around, but really any individual seat only lasted about 8 years.

What are the best bang for buck brands? I don't care where it's manufactured tbh as long as it's made with high quality materials, assembled well, is reliable.
