Hi everyone.

Long time cyclist here in Vancouver who loves going on small group rides but hates the idea of organized cycling clubs.

I ride both a road and gravel bike. I’m not super fast or super slow but i do love a good hill climb.

Where do you guys find new people to bike with without joining a group?

My idea of a perfect ride is up Seymour Demo, back down Spur 4 and Fisherman’s then grab a craft beer pint on the ride home.

I follow a bunch of different Facebook groups for stolen bikes and what i keep seeing over and over again is people getting their bike stolen from Granville Island.

Why is there so much theft in this one location?

Please don’t lock your bikes up here, use the free bike valet.

Most of you here already know to do that but I’m posting for the few people who think that it’s ok to enter a traffic circle on the left.

I’ve been seeing this more and more recently and have narrowly missed a head on collision because of it.

Please stick to the right side of the traffic circle!

Long story short, bike lane came to a stop and I decided to use the road for two blocks rather than take a huge detour and some driver decided to point out that there’s a bike lane(blocks away.)

This is probably the third or fourth time it’s happened to me and I know that i have every right to be on a road unless stated otherwise by a sign (freeway, etc.)

Just wondering how often this happens to you. Is this just one of those things that you can’t avoid unless you drive only in protected bike paths?

I was putting my GRX600 crank arm back on today when the pinch bolt rounded.

From what I’ve been reading online, they’re basically made of soft cheese.

Should i go to a LBS and buy a replacement OEM bolt or buy something better online?

Can anyone suggest one that I can buy in Canada?

I have a 2x setup with 105's and a long enough derailleur to fit an 11-40. I'm just wondering if it's ok to swap back and forth between an 11-36 and an 11-40 depending on if I'm climbing or bike packing for a while or just doing city rides.

What's the best option for an 11-40 cassette? (they all seem very expensive.)

Will this damage the chain?

Is it hard to tune the shifters each time?

I just saw the video online and like many others, I'm absolutely outraged that this happened.

What sort of outcome is going to happen with the guy who violated many marine laws and ultimately hit a whale?

Are we likely to hear the outcome?
