Need tips: Female solo traveling to HK in Sept for the first time

36F here. My last international travel was still in 2019 in Indonesia, so this kinda feels like my first time again. Was able to book a ticket to HK for Sept 6-11 for my birthday.

I have a pencil booking at Best Western Plus Hotel Kowloon. I can still cancel it if there's a better hotel you guys can recommend. I don't need a fancy one for as long as there's toilet with bidet (not the toilet on the floor please 😅)

And of course,, somewhere close to MTR!

I don't want to have a jampacked itinerary, but Disneyland and Ngong Ping cable car is a must. What else can you suggest that I will enjoy?

Also, will appreciate any tips you'd like to share be it about commuting, shopping, food, etc.

Thank you so much for helping your girl out!

Boracay in bright, golden, and haze

No matter the weather or time of day, the island never fails to amaze! Visiting Boracay during the habagat season turned out to be beautiful than I expected. One day I’m swimming under clear blue skies, the next I’m being lulled to sleep with the sound of rain and crashing waves. And yes, golden sunsets are still possible and more often comes as a surprise.

Foam Party at Fairways

The foam party is so entertaining to look at! Although I think this will be more fun if the venue is still in Ventana Pool.

PS. The Kudetah District is still closed as of today, July 2.

Must-try resto in Fairways?

First time in Fairways tomorrow. What dishes and which restaurant should I visit?

I'm not into alcohol and not eating red meat either.

Where should I order coffee?

As much as I want to try all their restaurants, I only have small appetite hihi

Waking up to a rainy morning 🌧️

The best day to slow down and take in all this beauty right in front of me. I love this calmer and dimmer side of Boracay 💨🍃

What to do in Boracay during rainy days?

Just arrived today (29th) and the weather is great. Video is today’s sunset. But according to the news a LPA which could potentially be a typhoon might enter PAR tomorrow and will bring rains in Visayas.

I’ll be here in Boracay until the 4th. What else can I do aside from eating? 😂

That Furmom Guilt When Traveling

The excitement of finally packing for a trip you’ve been looking forward to—until you see your dog with that sad face because she knows you’re leaving. Suddenly, all that excitement is replaced with a little sadness and a whole lot of guilt.

As a furmom who travels, you also feel this too, don’t you?

I HATE MY DAD

I have this growing hate for my dad.

I'm 37. He's 70. I'm the youngest and the only unmarried, and I still live with him and my mom. I have chronic kidney disease stage 3.

He retired from his job at a young age of 40 years old, and from then on, my siblings and I assumed his responsibility as providers for the family. His reason? Gusto nalang daw nya mag-negosyo. The catch? Kaming magkakapatid ang magpopondo ng capital. It didn't happen. What's worse is that he ran twice for barangay elections (lost twice, too), and he forced us to shoulder all his expenses.

I didn't feel this much hate for him when my ate and kuya are still living with us. But fast forward, I think sometime 2014, nang bumukod na ang mga kapatid ko, mas lalo na akong nawawalan ng amor sa kanya. So yes, for more than 10 years, ako na ang provider ng parents ko.

I don't want to move out because I don't want to leave my mom.

Since he retired, he's just hiding in our house and doing nothing. So for the past 30 years of being unemployed, nakahiga lang siya on most days sa bahay.

Kung kikilos man, magbubungkal ng lupa sa labas or magkakalikot ng mga luma nyang abubot na ayaw nyang i-dispose. My mom does most of the household chores kasi nga nag-ttrabaho ako at maysakit din. On most days, nauubos lang ang maghapon nya kaka-telepono. And despite that, gusto nya pa din siya ang pinagsisilbihan. Ipaghahanda ng pagkain, bibigyan ng twalya kapag maliligo, ipag-aayos ng damit, you name it.

In my eyes, napaka-walang kwenta niya. Pero for the sake of my mom, hindi ko yun pinaparamdam. I'm keeping everything inside.

Kahit ako ang nagbayad, ipapa-post nya sa mom ko yung photos with a caption na "thank you daddy for the treat."

Sa lahat-lahat ng sacrifices ko dito sa bahay, he never said thank you to me. Not even once.

I hate him so much. I despise him.

Your Thoughts: 26k for a 6D5N Boracay Solo Travel Trip

Breakdown:

2k - RT flight to Caticlan (20kg baggage included RT because I got a flight swap offer, which gave me a travel fund that I used to purchase checked baggage

1.3k - RT airport-boat-hotel transfer via Southwest Tours

7k - 3D2N at Marzon Beach Resort (with breakfast) - this is a last-minute booking since I decided to extend my stay because of the flight swap offer

10k - 4D3N at Fairways and Bluewater (with breakfast)

6k - Aiming to spend just 1k/day for food since I don't eat much

Not planning to avail any activities since this is somewhat a workation and hindi ko din talaga hilig. I'm going there for a change of scenery, to breathe, and just simply enjoy the island life.
-----

For context, I initially booked a 4D3N trip last December. Then habang papalapit yung alis ko, I feel like bitin yung 4D3N even if this will be my third time to Boracay hehe. And poof! I received a flight swap offer + travel fund credits, so parang nakita ata ng universe ang desire ko to have a longer stay at my pahinga island.

-----

I am honestly not regretting sa nagastos ko at magagastos ko pa since I'm sure the money's gonna come back, pero na-realize ko lang nung naglista na ako ng expenses na malaki-laki din pala inabot ko.

-----

Anyway, I'll be in Boracay from June 29 to July 4. If you're also a trenta-kwarentahin solo travel girlie, see ya around! Sana maganda ang weather next week!

Trike Fare Around Boracay

Hello, everyone!

Going to Boracay this July. I will be staying sa Fairways and Bluewater, and while I know may shuttle naman ang hotel to and from Dmall, I still want to know magkano na ang trike fare sa Boracay.

I might really have to take a trike back to Fairways at night kasi gusto kong hintayin ang sunset sa White Beach.

Para hindi na magtatanong pa sa mismong driver at hindi na tagain pa sa presyo hehe since I'm a female solo traveler.

Maraming salamat!
