I always chuckle when you can vote for yourself to be the custodian. Like "Yes I agree I really should be the undisputed ruler of the galaxy"

Bring Us Home To The Stars

This is a shorter and tweaked version of a longer poem I made about Stellaris. Before the formation of the galactic community, before the awakening of elder empires, before the galaxy started naming its fears... it first learned to name its dreams.

When your first construction and science ship started surveying other systems, I always thought of it as your civilisation reading headlines from a news broadcast saying "FTL travel achieved by our first expedition" and some such. Just people, their families and the raw hope of reaching the stars now that the sky hangs too low for their promises.

A small thing I made ages ago that I just now wanted to share. Some ominous corpo logos for my corporate dystopia world + corpo slop

Yep I know. Black and red, "Are we the baddies?" logo. Vogelwerk is the parent company and focuses on biotechnics and KKI is its arms supplier. This was originally based on a roblox game about an infection, and I wanted to capture that corporate vibe. The last image is the introduction to their proxy statement, explaining what they do and their vision for the future.

And yes, Vogelwerk translates to "Bird Factory"-

I think I have no idea how to play ring world origins

Title says it all. 9/10 when I play a ring world I encounter a massive deficit or get eclipsed by other opponents. I've heard a lot about how ring worlds are meant for tech rushing and alloys but, with the tech part, other empires always end up being leagues ahead of me.

I've watched YouTube tutorials, dug up old reddit threads and consulted the Stellaris wiki and still its quite puzzling. I'm also supposed to play tall? But I don't know what exactly constitutes as playing tall so one way or the other I start expanding a lot.

Any advice playing the shattered ring world origin? Honestly, I feel like I'm just gonna start playing with prosperous unification next.

I guess a screenshot of my capital and what it looks like. I have like 300+ tech power in galcomm whereas the average member has like 500+. I have colonised the 3 ring segments. There's the capital, Longcommon (Which is my alloy segment) and Donhollow which is supposed to be a 2nd research segment.

I'm gonna cry

Sad

I didn't know that Cetana can just end the game like that. All I knew was that her fleets were in some random system and me and a couple allies were building up the largest navy the galaxy has ever fielded atp. I spent so many hours, building up so many stories with so many narrative rich encounters with the AI.

\"As custodians, we will lead the charge against this terrible crisis that threatens to end us all. Our differences shall become our strength. Beginning today, we stand as one\" - From a Stellaris trailer

From my mistaken attempts to make a space Holy Roman Empire that destabilised everything north of the galaxy, to AI empires that gave me a sense of admiration because of their unwillingness to die; centuries of rivalries that continue on even when the entire galaxy is at stake; the invasion of the prethoryns, the formation of the khanates; the awakening of the contingency and finally the intrusion of the Unbidden, which gave rise to the Galactic Imperium as a final measure with me as the imperial core.

\"On today's headlines, Coalition forces have entered the Ledameth system in what is the largest concentration of armed forces recorded in galactic history\"

And then Cetana, out of nowhere, spawned in and ruined all those narratives. She mopped up the Unbidden and intervened heavily with the Contingency. I was having so much fun.

I'm sure Cetana is a good crisis to play with but I just absolutely didn't know that it was that total. I thought that she'd just spawn another 3m+ fleet, which I thought would actually be fun to fight against. Once again the galaxy uniting to fight overwhelming threats. But no, she just wiped the entire game clean.

0/10 will not enable her again :(.

Hello, just picked up Stellaris and I was attracted to the shattered ring world start. Granted- it was quite foolish of me to start with the shattered ring before fully playing the planets (I tried it once before going through 5 failed ring world runs). I've watched a couple of videos about ring worlds but they're all really outdated and all this talk of ring worlds being "Nerfed" leads credence to it.

So far, I just wanna know the set ups you guys take and how you approach the game as a shattered ring world. I don't know what constitutes as a "Tall" play (Is it like just a single system or a couple) but I end up expanding quite a lot, and a common theme is that I really build up my military sometime around 2230+. My most recent run involved me vassalising a thermophile nation as well.

My set up recently has also been about maxxing my research on my capital. The whole interface of stellaris in general is very new and intriguing to me. On one hand its very interesting to learn all the systems, on the other, its quite confusing and frustrating when the research building I plopped down doesn't automatically give me research. Aside from resettling pops I barely have any idea how to grow my population in organically in my colonised ring segments. Any tips on how to improve my performance? Thanks all

Edit: Thanks for all the tips, although I would really like some for organics because preferences, though I understand if it gives me a disadvantage
