My CR checklist

I'd written a detailed reply to someone asking about my cr route, and I figured since I put in the effort, I might as well share it with a wider audience in case anyone finds it helpful.

Here's part of my initial comment, then bellow is the CR one:

>Pro tip - don't wast your time on small bunches of wax, it is 100% not worth it (the time, nor frustration).
I also used to be of the mindset that "every little helps", but after years of grinding 21+ candles a day I promise that really isn't the case.
Best use of your time is to focus on clusters of at least 10+ wax, but mainly candle cakes (and/or tasks that give an equivalent amount - Valley races, music sheet, Last City games). The rest is for grabbing on the way if it happens to be there.

>This page has a detailed breakdown of wax per location and this has info on additional sources of wax, if you really want to get in to the numbers.

CR, ramble incoming:

Just to be clear though, I'm no speed runner, and I normally log in for about an hour 3 times a day, but someone who plays less could probably condense most of this to suit them. The order also varies depending on dailies location and my own mood/free time (though I try to log in in time for geyser and always start there if I can), so this is more of a general check list, it gets me 20+ candles* a day:

  • I'll do geyser 3 or more times a day, depending on when I log on. I generally afk there, so probably only get about half the wax each time. Run around and you'll get it done much faster. (in the past I used to max it out with active visits, takes 3.5 if I remember correctly)
  • Do granny twice
  • Do turtle. If you go after 2 granny visits, no green poops confirms you've maxed out that wax pool. On the way to and after turtle I collect the wax around Sanctuary
  • Dailies, cake realm, days of tickets, and shard - if they're on the way to/from the above, bonus, if not try to squeeze at least one between a geyser and granny visit.
  • If vault isn't a daily realm, do that (just the main area going up to the temple, no need to bother with repository or archives)
  • Do the 3 games in the Last City (a race to the right of the start point, which beware - is buggy as hell, then a stone throw by the end of the race, and a pick the box game at the far end of the market, completing each gives = 1 cake)
  • Do Carnival map
  • Use aviary shortcut to do music sheet, then go from there to the theater to collect flowers, then out to the village to collect the 2 cakes. If like today dailies and/or shard are in ice rink, I'll go from there down the sliding race (unless we have to visit citadel, then the flying one). For both just launch, make sure to collect at least one light, then let it run itself, 95% of the time you'll make it to the end without intervention. Then also collect in the temple. If nothing is taking me to ice rink, I don't bother though.
  • Collect the cake in the wind paths at some point on the way to Sanctuary
  • If there is extra light for days of event, get that (most of the time it's a slow afk job, some are faster than others. I used to max them all out, but now I chill at the faster spots for a bit,if I have some time to pass and they're easy to get to)
  • Don't forget your cinnamoroll! lol
  • If I'm really close to getting my extra candle, I'd probably grab the cake at Prophesy cave via wind path, and/or do Alice Cafe

The extra things I used to do to get 21+ candles* a day:

  • Max out Prairie, Valley, and (at least most of) Forest bonfires. With a good shared space to help burn, they take 40-50 min afk (or semi-afk, depends on your device and if you can get around the 10min sleep trigger), and also spend a lot of down time hanging out in the wind paths (maxing out takes longer, about 70-80min). If days of wax is available, max that out too (vary in time, moonlight is probably fastest, feast and bloom are probably slowest, from memory)
  • Prairie - butterfly fields, village, heights, and temple
  • Forest - treehouse (actually collect candles there on way to granny instead of just use shortcut), boneyard, and temple after granny
  • Starlight desert cake (after grabbing wind paths one, then back out to the paths and on to-)
  • Hermit valley for cake and race (used to then collect village cakes and then go do music sheet instead of using the Aviary shortcut)
  • One or both of the main Valley races, and temple
  • Wasteland, at least the larger clusters in the first area, if I can be bothered, do the rest of the realm too
  • Fire and Air trials with an alt. Air is easy, just find the spot and launch. Fire took me some time since I'm hopeless at doing the shortcuts and I kept getting lost on the last level, so I'd do the trials, alternately, at the end of the day, so the next day I could teleport back to the fresh cakes of one, and do the other again at the end of the day, rinse and repeat (keep in mind that in the air trial you need to go back down to light the final shrine for it to register you art the top and teleport you back there, instead of the start, the next day). But remembering to teleport back in the morning was, lets say, not consistent lol and eventually I figured out the fire maze enough to do it smoothly, so then I'd do both in the gap between geyser and granny.
  • If really close to getting extra candle, I might grab the cakes at Isle of Dawn, maybe do Reef (and afk the eel there if I'm really bored lol). Also Lightmending - I get screen sickness having to move and look around unfamiliar maps so I rarely go, if it was a set map/s I could learn, I'd probably do it daily

For this I would normally be logged on for twice as long each session, but about half would be afk. If days of afk was happening I'd probably stay on between sessions for that, on top of it.

Also keep in mind my earlier advice - focus on larger clusters, you really don't need to collect every single light for any of this. Collect what is on your path between larger clusters, and don't worry if you miss/forget a small amount.

*the + is parts of the next candle that over 2-4 days accumulate to an extra candle, so for example on my 20+ run, I'll get 20+a daily increasing fraction on Mon Tue Wed, then on Thu enough will collect to make 21

Previous session lost?

Had to force reboot my win10 pc due to another program causing issues, and when I started up again, Librewolf decided to open a "last session" from 4 or 5 months ago instead of what it last had open this morning.

I've scrolled through my history (which obviously like previous session, I have enabled) and tried to restore as many tabs as I could, but after a certain point trying to track down tabs I may have last looked at a week or two ago becomes too ridiculous. I've got the browser synced with my phone, but from what I can see I can only brows the history there too, rather than be able to restore my last session.

So basically my question is have I missed anything/am unaware of a way to restore my actual last session, or am I out of luck and just need to deal with it?

TIA

Flavacol infused oil?

I want to try and make some Flavacol drizzling oil for general use, my first thought is to just add a bunch to a bottle of good quality oil or jar of coconut oil, but would that actually work to activate the buttery flavour? (as I understand it, without oil it's just salty, but maybe heat is also a factor?) And if so, which oil would be best to use, and what ratio of salt to oil am I looking to mix?

I've tried looking it up but the search just keeps bringing up "how do I use Flavacol" posts with more general advice, so sorry if this has already been asked.

TIA!

Glitch that, together with the carnival challenge tech, enabled the return of granny afk but also geyser afk spaces, and many/most creative and artistic creations and nest extensions where items can be placed while red, apparently got removed in the recent update

Saw this post last night, tried myself today, and they really seem to have done it this time.

I'm nowhere near new to the game, so I can't say I'm surprised, but since this glitch is used to create so much art we see in sky, and there are followings and even competitions for that type of thing, I really thought they would respect it in the way they do the chibi fall or OOB exploration in general.

But TGC will clearly keep us from afk-ing at granny's no matter what the cost to creativity, expression, and helping each other out.

It feels like it's a matter of principle to them now, which is just pathetically petty at this point. It's like the company is run by a 5 year old who flips the table when people don't see the same exact imaginary tea part they do (having seen the glassdoor receipts a while back, I know this isn't far off).

Anyway..

If anyone finds a new way to get this done (on android preferably), please do share! (I know discord is better for this but I don't use that nor TT, so here we are lol)
