Play based Kindergarten?

Is it play based in Arlington? It's hard to tell from the website (it's awesome that there even is a whole website dedicated to K). It kind of sounds like something in between? We're currently in DC and I'm nervous about the level up from pre k to kindergarten. I think my kid is still going to need a pretty play heavy kindergarten experience.

NOVA neighborhoods for everyday biking?

If you moved to NOVA, what neighborhood (not just like 'Arlington') would you pick to live where a lot of everyday life (grocery store, taking kids to school, going to the playground etc) could be conducted on bike? Ie the best slice of urban living in the burbs?
