Does VCJ have a seriousness problem? Discuss!
My opinion: if you want to be serious, unjerk, lack a sense of humor, this is the place! If VCJ is more serious discussion than funny mockery, zingers, and banter then VCJ is a pointless photocopy of other subs. It seems like every post on VCJ lately has more /uj comments (or serious comments without even that) than it does funny stuff, and that's a goddamn travesty. Your thoughtful takes, links to sources, carnist debunking and other stony-faced missives have NO PLACE there. Come here instead!
Liberate VCJ from the tyranny of seriousness! Power to the comedians!
Folks, I'm sorry to report that the Defective Altruists are on one again

This one has a little of everything: Gaz Oakley is great, actually, you CAN love animals and pay for them to die, you must never confront carnists with the consequences of their choices or they'll never make different choices, nutritional deficiencies tho, veganism is too hard, people who speak up for animals are "extremists", zoos show people care about animals, yada yada yada.
I shouldn't be surprised, this is the group that gave us the galaxy brains at FarmKind whose grand idea to help animals is for everyone to keep exploiting animals, just send FarmKind money instead. This post just further demonstrates that these people are talking out of their academic asses to feel better about their choices to keep eating and wearing the individuals they claim to want to help.
Carnist: "Sure, we torture monkeys, but listen vegans . . . what do you think about natto?"
Rat Burger Price Increase On Whoooooper Wednesday?!?!?!
Anyone else really mad about Borger Kong increasing the prices of the Rat Burger on Wednesday's? It's no longer discounted to the same price as the regular Burger...
Whoooooper Wednesday used to be a great backup if shit hit the fan during my Wednesday weekday and I couldn't make lunch or dinner so I was literally forced to eat this Rat Burger from a place that also pays for half a million cows to be killed and cut up per year. But don't judge me, sometimes I have to drive places randomly out of the blue and can't just bring my own non-rat tested food, and ALSO I saw you at your local "slaughterhouse of a grocery store" so get off your high horse, vegoooon! Vegan btw.
