newbie knee repair

my husband’s Levi’s have had a blown-out knee for months- maybe over a year. He said he’d never wear them again, but I think I convinced him 😊 I finally took the plunge into an actual project, from start to finish in 6 hours in one afternoon. He told me which thread color to use and which pattern. Critique is welcome, I’m wanting to learn and try new patterns!

Who are your favorite 20th century American fiction writers?

I’m reading In Dubious Battle by John Steinbeck right now, and after reading East of Eden, The Grapes of Wrath, and Of Mice and Men, I’m convinced he’s the best American male writer of the 20th century. I think Toni Morrison and Octavia E. Butler are among the best female writers. There’s so many genres and styles, it’s difficult to compare (totally not a competition!)

Who are your favorite writers from 20th century America who wrote fiction? Who best captures the soul and culture of the U.S. between 1900-2000? Give me some recommendations and faves!

What’s the most nonsensical item you randomly collect for no reason?

For the past few years I’ve been accumulating bread clips for absolutely no reason. I usually never reuse one but I feel guilty throwing them away. I have 46 in a bowl in my kitchen.

Show me what you got!!

Summer butterflies in the garden 🦋 🌹

Getting back into hand embroidery, still figuring out the best way to fill in large background spaces. I used a printed kit to start out but quickly added/changed a lot of elements. Thanks for letting me share ☺️
