Prelims and Test scores

TL;DR: Scoring quite low even after having conceptual clarity and revision. Need advice on improving my game especially with statement-based objectives.

To all the folks who have any genuine advice!

It is going to be nearly 2 months since I started preparing for UPSC. And so far I’ve been like 4-5 weekly tests. But unfortunately I hardly score 16 marks out of 40 (2marks per question and -0.66 for negative).

I’ve been told to not look at “scores”. But what bothers me is, I am familiar with the concept— whatever is being taught in the coaching along with the basic ncert and YET I get many question incorrect!

I have analysed my mistakes where I noticed most of the incorrect questions were either

  1. statement-based question where I could only eliminate 1 option.. or
  2. factual errors on my part.

I get more than 5-6 incorrect, 2-3 unattempted question in nearly all the papers. But again, when I’m answering those I feel “these statements are certainly false” and confidently eliminate the correct one!

The fact that I’m trying everything to get “it right” and still am stuck has entered me into a vicious spiral of doubts and fears.

Please help me understand how I can improve myself when it comes to objective. 😭

F22, Wish to know more about my career

The 1st picture is my left hand. 2nd, Right.
I will be appearing for a competitive examination in 2027, and wish to know more about how well I’d do, given that I’m already neck deep into its preparation.

May I please get some reading? I’m open to readings that are beyond career aswell! :)

Edit: my dominant hand is the right one.

How do I efficiently manage coaching and self study

Hey there!
I am in need of some advice regarding daily-study routines.
I joined a coaching about 2 weeks back and have my GS classes (of 3 hours) + Optional classes (of 3 hours) everyday..
Apart from these 6 hours, the only “routine” I’m following is revising both lectures I learnt that day, newspaper readings, and 11th NCERT (one subject as of now..)

I am clueless as to what I should focus on every day.. and ideally how much time I should devote to self study BEFORE coaching and AFTER coaching.

Looking for a single occupancy PG in Old Rajindra Nagar

Hey!
As the title says.. I’m looking for some good single occupancy PG’s/room in ORN within a reasonable price. With or without food either are okay. For a female!

I’m saying reasonable because I have been hearing 32k and 36k 🥲

Please do give recommendations! I’m in urgent need!

Confused with optionals

I am having a hard time deciding optionals for CSE 27..
i did BBA-LLB and naturally I’m inclined towards law.. but I believe it’s more emotional. There are a few cons..

  1. My coaching doesn’t have classes for it. So I’ll have to fetch sources, test series and make the syllabus my self.
  2. I won’t have anyone guiding me with its progress.
  3. As of today, I am unsure of how scoring it would be.I checked the Pyps and I have a very mixed feeling.. I see that the portion is VAST.. there was international law.. competition law.. environment law.. contracts, Consti and more.. and ofcourse case laws to substantiate everything. Out of both the cse 25 paper i found that I didn’t know 3 questions (like zero). Although I’d need to work a lot to build content and notes.. ofcourse.

My second preference in Political Science and International Relations.. something I’m quite interested in. The only con being I have
limited knowledge of it as of today.. but ofcourse, my coaching does have its classes. I’ll get a ready syllabus with test series, study material.. guidance.. and I am positive I can score well if I give it time.

With all this information.. I’m still having a hard time deciding between law and PSIR.. has anyone who’ve chosen either one has any opinion over how they’re preparing for it.. from where..?
