genuine question - not a joke

sort of odd but…

is there any place on campus or near campus where i can go to scream/cry/freak out?
like somewhere soundproof? similar to a rage room, but i dont need to break stuff

dealing with some heavy shit in therapy and need somewhere to let out my emotions safely without worrying about someone calling the cops lol.

im in residence and can hardly cry without worrying if someone is gonna call my RA or something…

Top Surgery Questions

Hello!

I’m trans FTM and looking for some advice for top surgery. I’m only two months into my medical transition (HRT) but I know it takes a long time to schedule top surgery, so I figured I’d start ASAP!

1- Who are the best/cheapest/fastest surgeons in the GTA? I’m in Toronto for college at the moment, but may move somewhere else in Ontario within a year or two.

2- What are out of pocket costs looking like these days? I can hopefully get some OHIP coverage.

3- What is the process like? Who do I need to speak to in order to start the process? How long does the process take on average?

4- Do I need to be on T for a certain amount of time before I’m allowed surgery? Do they need proof that you’re “actually trans” or anything like that?

I’m desperate to get top surgery, as it’s my biggest dysphoria factor. And I feel super overwhelmed by the whole thing, with no trans people in my life for guidance. Any advice helps! Thank you!

Question for Bottoms

tw: feminine term for genitalia

Hello fellow bottoms,

I am only a few months into my transition, and don’t plan to hookup with any guys for a while, BUT…

I am unable to bottom anally. I have health issues which prevent me from doing so.

What is it like hooking up/dating as a trans guy as a strict bottom? Do guys assume you’ll be using your ass or your vagina? Have you had anyone be disappointed/put off when you communicate you can’t/won’t bottom with your ass?

Again. Not urgent, I’m just curious. Thanks guys!

Bi/gay trans guys, give me your positive dating stories

I need some happy mlm dating stories. I’m only in the beginning of my transition, and likely won’t be dating for a year or two, but I’m feeling very down about the whole thing.

I keep seeing SO much transphobia in gay men’s spaces about trans men. Mainly that they would never consider dating a trans man because that would make them straight.

I understand genital preference, but it makes me feel like I’ll never be seen as a man by other men. I don’t think I’ll be getting bottom surgery, so that makes me even more anxious about dating.

In my dream scenario, I’d love to be with another trans man, but statistically there are a lot more cis men available, so…. I need advice/positivity/tips on dating, please! <3

Sore throat the day after first T shot?

Hey guys,

I did my first T shot yesterday. It was 50mg intramuscular in the thigh. I’ve read a few others experiences about the first few days after their first dose, and have mainly heard about bottom growth & different bodily smells (urine, sweat, etc). I haven’t, however, heard of anyone having a sore throat until a few weeks after.

I know that I’m not sick, because I don’t have a headache or snotty nose (which I usually get before the sore throat)

Will T make my pets dislike me?

Hey guys,

I’m starting T in a few days and I’m moving a couple hours away for college next month.

I currently have two cats and one dog. My one cat is scared of men, and all of my animals particularly respond well to my higher pitched, feminine voice…

I’m not gonna see them for about six months, so likely my voice, scent, and things like that will change right?
Are they gonna recognize me and still like me (specifically my one cat)?

Does anyone have an experience similar to this?

First year of College and Freaking OUT

Hey guys.

So… I’m a pre-T, in the closet, trans guy. I’m 23 and starting my first year of college in September.

The thing is, only two of my close friends know that I’m a man. I still wear mostly androgynous clothing, have long hair, and do not pass as a man whatsoever.

I plan on coming out to my parents and brother next week. I’m nervous, but at the end of the day, don’t give a shit what they have to say about it.

The only thing I’m worried about is school. The program I’m in is super small (probably only 30-40 other students with me). The school I’m going to is in Toronto, so I’m sure people are pretty open minded there.

I sent in a name change request to my school today, from my super feminine dead name to my clearly male chosen name. I’m gonna go thrifting for more “boy clothes” this weekend. After I come out to my family I’m gonna go get a masculine haircut and talk to my doctor about starting HRT.

I’m just worried I’m not gonna pass at all in September. It’s scary to meet a big group of people during the beginning of your transition— like am I gonna have to explain to everyone that I’m trans??? Will they just assume Oh, androgynous looking person with wide hips, girly voice but masculine name… i should ask what his pronouns are??? Am I supposed to disclose my pronouns when I introduce myself?

Also, when I signed up for dormitories— a few months ago, still dealing with my shame— I picked the all-girl floor… Am I absolutely screwed ???

Does anyone else here have experience transitioning while being at college?

My Doctor Wants to See Me

I (23 F) got my first upper endoscopy & colonoscopy on May 2nd after nearly a decade of crohns-like symptoms. My doctor referred me to a scoping clinic and the procedure went well. At the clinic they told me I had one polyp which they removed and sent for biopsy. They did not tell me any more information on any possible diagnosis (which I’m not sure if a scoping clinic is allowed to divulge anyway?) I was a bit disappointed that I wasn’t told any information— I desperately want a diagnosis because I know SOMETHING is wrong, I just don’t know what.

I just got a call from my doctor’s office today. The receptionist told me that my doctor would like to book a new appointment to speak with me and do a “re-assessment”.

Does this mean that something was found via biopsy? Could I have Crohn’s disease after all? Will they need to do ANOTHER colonoscopy?

For context, the scoping people said I did my prep perfectly. Is it possible that they need to do another one? (I hope not. That PegLyte is terrible)

I’m just asking to see what the realistic reason is, as my new appointment is a month from now and I’m quite anxious.

Thanks!
