I made this midi dress (Annabelle dress from PatternCos) for my best friend for her wedding trip! The shell fabric is thrifted broderie anglaise and it's fully lined with some light cotton (partly bedsheets!)

I was so nervous because this was my first time making a garment for an adult woman who isn't me, and also my first time sewing an invisible zipper. It took quite a few fittings to get the bodice right but I'm so proud of the result and my best friend loved it!

hello all! I am making a dress for my best friend and it's my first time fitting a garment for someone who isn't myself. The pattern is the Anabelle dress by PatternCos.

I had to make a few adjustments to the bodice pattern because she falls on different sizes - bust fits size 36 (84cm), waist fits size 40 (70cm), and hips fit size 44 (104cm).

My question is, what's the best way to fix all this excess fabric at the back? there will be an invisible zipper in the middle.
