best alternatives to oil based enamel? looking for recommendations!

looking for good water based alternatives to dulux high gloss oil based super enamel, as it will be used in low light areas where oil based goes yellow, and an occupied home where quick drying will be beneficial. have considered the water based aquanamel but have heard mixed results. let me know your experiences and advice!

oil / stain recommendations for conservatory decking

hi there! i am looking for recommendations for an oil or stain.

the wood is pine, has had the old stain freshly stripped and sanded, and some freeh planks installed where a spa used to be, so theres a slight contrast between the old and new, which hopefully will be less noticeable after using deckwash.

we have a west facing conservatory, has tinted UV roofing, gets the whole afternoons worth of sun during summer and gets pretty hot in there, but mostly indirect sunlight during winter due to trees blocking the winter sun path. only time the flooring gets wet is when condensation builds on the inside of roofing and drips down in the morning sometimes, or occasional bit of water ingress around the edges during heavy rain.

I'm not sure whether to go with a stain or an oil, or whether to go water or oil based etc. i want to preserve the woodgrain texture without going too dark as the house is already a dark brown, but want to tint it enough to blend the new and old wood to make any tone mismatch less noticeable. being pine i want to avoid it coming out too orangey or yellowy.

any recommendations and advice would be much appreciated!

turbo advice

hi there!

im looking for a bit of advice on my setup.

i have 2nd gen BG5 legacy GTB with a full V3 STI styled setup.

-s20c ej207 shortblock

-sti ej20k heads

-V3 STI intake and exhaust manifold

-60mm ID aftermarket up pipe

-kinugawa td05 20g 8cm with billet wheel

-3" invidia high flow catted down pipe

-3" exhaust

-750cc injectors

-walbro 500hp pump

-V3 STI intercooler

-v3 STI gearbox

201kw at 6200rpm, 350nm and 18.7psi at 4500rpm. i asked for the tune to be agressive as i want to feel the acceleration as i hate the boring smooth linear feel, though i really dont like the lag, its a hassle to get it up hills at low speed sometimes without dropping to first. i know with a retune it could have more down low but i wouldnt be sure if it would smoothen out the power delivery. has not been road tuned due to not being road legal at the time, hub dyno only

i am aiming for 230-240kw and to have more low down response.

i want to swap the intercooler for a 300x300 front mount to fit between my limited edition foglights, which i know will add a slight bit of lag, but im trying to decide on turbo that is smaller and will combat the lag im experiencing but still be able to deliver aggressive acceleration and make the power i want.

i am looking at a td05 18g 7cm, but ive heard of boost creep issues on the 7cm housings? im also considering going for a smaller up pipe if that will help bring back some response as long as i dont sacrifice top end power. i do like how the 20g holds full boost to 7000. (im sure the redline can be raised closer to 8000 after run in too)

the td05s are also old school tech, which i like as its period correct to my build, but if theres newer tech factory location turbos for the same kind of price (roughly 2,000 new zealand dollars) then what would you recommend? thanks

Looking for a band similar to incubus?

maybe not *exactly* like them, but they were from the same era and shared genres.

the New Zealand band Shihad,

particularly their 1999 album 'The General Electric'.

Whilst lacking a DJ and instead have 2 guitarists (one being the vocalist), in my opinion share some similarities in some lyrical themes and vocals, instrumental tones and melodies with incubus.

you can find the full album on YouTube:
