48 hours of Amtrak and Via trains moving across the country
it may not be much, but a few of them are covering huge distances.

About 7 years ago I got fed up on a via rail train from Toronto which was delayed because of traffic, and wanting to know what traffic it was, I built a map on the train that day for Via, Go, and Amtrak. Since then, it's turned into an out-of-control obsession to try and track every train in the world and build the flightradar24 of trains. Happy to answer any questions, and if I've missed a network - please let me know, I would love to add it!
I wanted a TTC sign that lit up, so I decided to make one myself! The lights flash if there's an incident at the station, and the different colours represent trains on different routes (blue is a train moving towards Vaughan, red towards finch). I made the design off of some maps i found online, got the thing printed on metal, and drilled in a bunch of LEDs and an arduino.
I also built an online version of the map at subways.live/ttc if you're interested!
Hey all! I've been working on a live subway-style map of go with real train positions and alerts (subways.live/go) It grabs the train's position from GPS (GTFS-RT) and assigns it a place on the subway map.
I'm thinking of adding UP to the map next, but is there anything else I'm missing?
