Catherine de' Medici

Kinda crazy that her role and character is not mentioned much in the recent episodes in particular in relation to the French situation and Huguenot massacre. Instead the main decision makers are portrayed to be her not very bright sons. Odd choice by the show to say the least.

Berlin attack and our community

I am beyond fatigued. Spent the night trying to find out if my friends are alright. The attacker is unsurprising a Muslim with a long history of criminal activity despite being only 21. Was released just a few months ago from prison.

I swear to God our community has no sense of self-preservation. We vote for politicians and policies that protect these monsters. I have no hope that things will change after this attack.

The Iran episodes

I have been listening to this podcast for years now. I generally really enjoy them very much and am thankful for the content they provide but man, the Iran episodes were so bad. I initially skipped those episodes because I was fearful they will be disappointing and put me off the podcast altogether. I eventually got back to those episodes and I wasn't wrong. A lot of mistakes particularly about the shah period. For one, I don't know how any honest and fair historian can describe mossadegh as a democratic leader. As an Iranian, I don't know why this popular myth just doesn't die!

Fwiw, I liked the episodes about the hostage crisis. Those were better handles.
