16 days with SSHL

I'm already after three injections, nine HBOT seesions (six left), and only four days left on encorton. I started taking meds the day after SSHL happened - HBOT started the very next day. I'm at 0% speech recognition with my right ear. The right ear was completely unresponsive during the first 3-4 days of SSHL.

Did somebody had similarly "bad" recovery at this stage? Is there any chance that my hearing will improve by even 20-30% in the following weeks? Tinnitus is pretty much manageable, I don't really mind it during days or nights. My doctor was not really optimistic with these results... He said that I'm past the best peroid for recovery. I going for MRI next week. I felt no ear pain during this period, only minor one after each in-ear injection but that is expected for everyone taking it. I'm 26, this feels so ridiculous.

Right ear is out since a week

Went to a concert. I was usually using some air plugs to lower the noise by approximately 20db. Not this time, dumb me. It was a bit louder than a usual rock show, although far away from something during which one would catch their ears for safety. After that, my ears were slightly full, nothing too alarming later in the evening. Until the next day. Both ears were trying to block themselves early in the morning. I thought that I had become a little bit sick the day before, but something was not right. The right ear went out completely within an hour. I went to the hospital right after work. The doctor said: - Acoustic damage. Might be curable, might be not.

I started taking steroids the very next day, attempted hyperbaric tube three times already, first time two days after the event. Then on the third day I got that horrible in-ear injection. After it, the loudest in-head noises went off, but no real change to hearing itself. Two injections coming this week.

Taking into the account that my right ear is still out (I only hear less noises in it than I did in the first four days - it was harsh), are there any particular chances that this can go away even slightly? The internet shows completely random times of when something is „expected” to return. I read that people here usually only experience some hearing loss, not a full blow. In case of a complete loss of hearing, can I expect any hope in this process? The left ear cured close to perfection during this week. When I touch skin inside the right one, it kind of „hears” some scratching but that’s it.

The End of Forgetting is devastating

I went to two concerts from the last tour. My first experience of the tour in Warsaw had left me unimaginably speechless, but I couldn’t expect what the last Berlin show was about to serve. I travelled couple of hours to experience the grand finale of the tour. What happened there still stretches my bones till this day. I listened to a bootleg from that show couple of months ago, but since the wait for the newest live release (from that very concert) is still somewhere behind the corner, I’ve decided to play it once again.

Beside the marvellousness of the entire setlist and the concert itself, The End of Forgetting might be the one of the most decimating musical experiences in my entire live. I already knew for many years that long enhanced tracks make my heartbeat go faster. But what happens within these 41 minutes of pure musical magnificence is just above my strengths. You could call it a killer track, but then its gets a little bit more… a lot more than that. During the 2nd Berlin show, they went beyond their limits. It was spectacular, a truly shattering experience. The final outro is the very definition of a catharsis - not just musical, it goes in your mind back and forth. I used to think that old live versions of Echoes by Pink Floyd were the best modern fruitions of musical greatness. I’m no longer sure about it after experiencing TEoF live.

All the best to everyone who saw them live during the last tour, especially to all who had the pleasure of seeing them on 28th of November. I wish you to finally see the release of the long awaited live album. Cheers.

Spotify jam turned off scrobbling

After using spotify jam for couple of minutes (which I know that it never scrobbles) I turned it off, but so far scrobbling hasn’t returned. Reinstalling Spotify app on ios or plugin reconnection from last fm webpage don’t seem to help. Has anyone had the same issue?

A couple of months ago, people here got really interested with Polish LP ciśnienie - [angry noises] and its 'Big Sound' approach. Last Friday, another Polish band kielichy released a new single - Puste Niebo.

From the very beginning, you can hear an obvious Swans influence. At 3:30 it sounds like a rip-off of Frankie M's bridge, and the vocals strongly resemble Michael's arrangements.

The single promotes band's new LP, SAWANT (lol), coming June 13th. Their fascination with Swans has been present for a while, as they’ve apparently performed a live cover of Coward couple of times.
