Warlock Subclass Idea: AcademiaPatron

Hi, had a bit of free time at my job so i made this quick subclass that one of my players might use for our drakkenheim campaign as his character is most likely going to die. This is just a draft of what i think would be cool to play. Was playing around with Collegiate Endowment feature and i still dont know if it lands the fantasy i was looking for. i want that this patron gives some of their raw magic to their patron to cast spells with. the first idea was to gain a number of spell levels equal to your PB so one can spend them as they like, but i think its just to messy. Scaling with Int seems cool (there are 4 asis so one can get to 20 in both cha and int if one would go this route). Thesis sounds cool on paper, but ill probably scrap it. I am begging for some feedback on how to make the features fit together or any other idea that comes to mind on how to improve it.

Optional ranger feature that would fix the whole ranger HM and poor scaling issues

Ever sience the release of 5.5e there have been discussions about the ranger class and its issues regarding Favored enemy, HM and poor damage scaling in T3 and T4.

I know there have been a lot of takes on fixes and buffs so here is mine that tries to fix some issues.

3rd-level Ranger feature (optional)

Press the Hunt. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can expend one use of your Favored Enemy to make one additional weapon attack as part of the same action. If this attack hits, it deals an extra 1d6 damage of the weapon's type.

You can use this feature no more than once on each of your turns.

I've had a friend playtest it in two t2 and t3 oneshots and he said filled a gap he sometimes feels in the longer campaign where he also plays a ranger.

Would this fix anything or is this overkill?
