West side cow boy

We are in a dawning of golden age of exciting new bands art rock , indie , alternative, the vast majority are British and Irish , so my advice is go see them live NOW before they playing arenas
With
Fontaines dc
westside cowboy ( what a name )
man woman chain saw ,
real Farmer ,
RADIO FREE ALICE ,
crack cloud ,
LIFE,
Bar italia ,
Yard act ,
What a festival line up yeah ?
( Even modest mouse returning to his musical beginnings with latest release)
to mention but a few .

However these are genuinely one of my favourite bands for this reason I will review the album after I’ve spent a few days with the sonic escape that awaits us all . In the music scene it appears every now and then the circle completes and real music , real
Bands come
Back to top the mainstream , and this is another era of bands on top.

Music evolves …

My thoughts …
As a fan since the start , ( hurricane laughter ) then watching them at Glastonbury ( sadly on tele live ) been a massive fan of these , my first impression of the song was wrong , so don’t judge till at least two listens , best on ote headphones .

So , it’s so great to see this band still reaching for new musical styles and evolving, as many bands that make it big will tend to stay the same sound style for fear of loosing their audience, only truly great legendary bands manage to evolve the sound and change as they see fit ( blur , arcade fire , not like oasis who demise surely was because they did not evolve the sound as band ) however these lads have done excellent, they jumped forward boldly , confidently , making music they want us to hear and love it , and now at the heights a band can only dream off with credibility intact with full access to top of range studio equipment , full label
Backing . I get the feeling we have a lot to be excited about with these and the future epic songs they will make ,.

new sound scape yet still instinctively sounds like the bare bone’s of the band beginnings . It has reminiscent moments of a white lies bass line thumping goth beat , and almost as if starbuster was a sample of what is yet to come . ….. excited cannot wait :)

SPIDER-MAN / INFAMOUS

Soo who remembers the last launch of console ps4 2013 ,

The lack of games ,
Then the brilliant infamous game?
The first real that gen game
wasn’t they good ,

who plays spider man and can’t help but feel it’s like infamous ,

Similarities are canny , I can’t help
But feel the infamous vibe at times when playing spider man . Is this why they HAVE NOT made another yet , to let spider man shine , as half its player base probably never even played infamous .

I cannot be alone in this ?

Ps. Any medical episodes you have whilst reading this is not my responsibility, however I do wish you all the best .

ARTRoCKeR review due on podcast very soon

Modest Mouse Eraser in a maze

I feel bounded to  start this article, by one of the worlds most underrated and influential  bands,  the legendary Modest Mouse .

We have a duty as fans of all that music that has sprinkled our lives becoming soundtracks to our lives , some of us for over 30 years , just  to take a brief moment of reflection, respect and love upon  Jeremiah’s Green very tragic passing away on  31 December 2022 (age 45 years)

As the drummer , co founder ,  he was the backbone  of the band . However Jeremiah wasn’t just a band member Issac and Jeremiah  had a close long lasting friendship for over 3 decades . Unless you have gone through the loss of your oldest friend being taken too early ,  the grief , the emptiness it leaves  must never be under rated . After all we choose our friends .

This brings me to the immediate thing , that I felt after a few hungry listens, it is an album , the  band had to make , a future master piece , just waiting to be unleashed ,  and now without no major label thinking they know best . (On previous albums he told them he had 30 songs or more he wanted to release , they were like no ). This time he took this album to epic they said no too noisy  and in what is an outstanding show of force , he said , oh well , I’m going to release under glacier then .

This makes you wonder , in what way did the record label hinder their full artistic vision  , as this is one their greatest releases in years .  I do not say that lightly either , I take music very seriously .

Now  with Issac back on production , and free from the suits n big labels . It has allowed them to  be them selves again unleashing their full artistic potential , thus  creating an epic sound scape to get lost in , a truly great album that allows the songs to breath , to flow as one unique work of art . Allowing  for long intros and contrast .It feels , it feels just so , so modest mouse .

Maybe they also made this album  to help process the grief ,the loss and the injustice at loosing your best friend, the back bone of the band  , so young .

Refocusing the band in a most amazing way with Issac being the at the helm  . Going back to their roots .

That’s the magic of this band , take any album , even the early ones , they sound timeless , ageless as if it could have been released today , that is in a nut , modest mouse , pioneers of timeless music that sounds as fresh today as day as when it came out . As with this album I am sure in 30 years time we will still be enjoying it and it still revealing to us things we never noticed before .

Maybe it is Issacs way of reaching out  to his fellow band mate , which can be heard most prominently  in the beautiful “remember yourself” , connecting them together in the musical language , they started out with .

Could this by  why this album marks Modest Mouse’s finest album in years .  This sort of passion and a band that really loving what they creating , cannot faked , maybe the reason this album marks such a wonderful exciting collection of tracks .

Also marks their first independent release , fans rejoice , in nearly 25 years and back the spiritual home of glacier their own label

Once  I had  heard the singles , I knew this was going to be something special  , I was searching you tube for live performances with new songs , found third side of the moon , and wow again another example of a band at the height of their creativity , the lyrics really beautifully describe the world through his eyes.

Makes me wonder , what else  the future has in store for us as listeners and mega fans   .

Think about what Band can you honestly say , has stuck together for over 30 years , and making music just as exciting and engaging  , as when they released some of the most influential and critically acclaimed albums from over 20 years ago .

Yes they do have a distinct style , but it is not as if like say oasis , after two or three albums , they sounded the same and boorish , just my opinion folks . I think because they have created a sound so unique with multiple instruments used , the parameters  of their song writing is endless .

Like a kid  at Christmas  I waited …..and waited ,  was it worth the wait ?

Yes it is , for the new generation of fans , and also for the ones that have been fans for  over 30 years . This will satisfies all  on levels that reminds you just how wonderful music can make you feel , more powerful than any drug .

It reaches all the 3d sonic soundscapes we have loved them for , , from the off with first track , stomping you right in , as if to say , hey people have you missed us ? We are back .

In the age of people just picking songs , and the  lost art of an album . The artists last musical messages  it can express , to fans is album track order , so please I beg at least  play it through in the order , this encapsulates this work of art and makes the songs sound better in the contrast of the album position.

I would advise ,  as great as it is , should not be played on repeat for hours and hours ,  its is like a fine malt , to be enjoyed a  couple times in 24 hours , after all you don’t want to loose that magic of this amazing masterpiece modest mouse have created . Also the best way to consume this , has to be noise cancelling over the ear quality head phones , it is an album that demands your full attention .  But that is just my opinion .

As with all my reviews I refuse to say which are my favourite songs, as I really want you to choose that for yourself . It is and will be one of those magic albums that upon every listen , will reveal a little more , not just in the forth coming days , but for years . Each listen will reveal a bit more of the album , the perfect sound of modest mouse , and they back with vengeance  and free  from big labels , welcome back gang , the music scene needs you :)

ARTRoCKeR

This album had me going through the massive and amazing back catalog , almost like a modest mouse rabbit Hole , so from a fan to you all , check out the track “other people’s lives” from the 2000 album build something out of
Nothings . Now that’s it ,  please go forth and listen to that track
