AD5X First Print

AD5X First Print

So i finally set up my AD5X and did my first benchy print just from the built in model. Turned out great and hopefully it can continue. My daughter wants to print an articulated dragon next, so we will see how that goes. Plan is to start doing single color prints and then work my way toward multicolor. Any tips? Slowing down the print head speed? How often should i wipe with alcohol and use the adhesive stick?

Class Recommendations

Another class rec thread, some of the others were looking for sometjing different than me. Gonna get back in for Wuoshi launch. Tried to play on origins but couldnt really make it through the leveling slog. With EoF having a well streamlined leveling experience and hopefully some better exp rates it should be a better experience. IIRC i feel like EoF was the expansion where the game really found its footing. I stopped playing in Kunark so i am excited to get back into it.

Looking for class recs, specifically geared toward raid need. Id like to play a meele dps, so scout probably. Brigand, Swash, Assassin, or Ranger?

Also any guilds recruiting?

Thanks!

AD5X Setup Tips and Tricks

Evening, purchased a AD5X a month or so ago as our first 3d printer and gettinf ready to set it up this week. Looking to see if anyone has any tips, tricks, or maybe even a good video out there for a setup.

Planning to slowly get started with just some single color stuff and then work my way towards doing multicolor. Would you all recommend just putting 1 spool out at a time and keeping others air tight if only printing a single color to keep moisture away?

Ive seen a lot abour zmod and being able to use standard orca slicer, is that the best way to go?

Thanks!

AD5X First 3d Printer?

Evening guys! Been looking to get a 3d printer for a little while now. As its my first entry i dont want to spend a crazy amount of money, but i also want something thats a relatively small form factor. This led me to FlashForge and the Adventurer 5m and AD5X. More specifically the AD5X for the multicolor printing. I feel like its a bit of future proofing. I worry i get the 5m and then wish i could do multi color stuff. Have watched plenty of videos and spent some time reading this reddit.

A little background i'm decently tech savy, but have obviously never owned a 3d printer. Old job used a Creality i believe for custom making parts and things for various functions. Personally id use it for some functionality stuff and printing fun stuff with my kids.

So the first and most important question, is the AD5X a good option for me? Obviously the price point is where i kinda would like to be and there is also the options of some upgrades in the future if i want(enclosure/camera).

Here are a few of the concerns i have based on what i have watched and read.

  1. How difficult is it to get up to speed with figuring out where to troubleshoot? Obviously its decently ready to print out of the box, but id assume learning, troubleshooting and adjusting are part of getting the most out of it?

  2. Filament, I have read that using other brands filament can be a pain and requires some calibration? I read that Sunlu requires a printed part, and also the Flashforge filament has changed and maybe not the best quality.

  3. Seen some stuff about moisture and issues that cause, I live in KY so a humid climate for sure, i have a couple dehumidifiers in my house, would it be worth it to keep one in my 3d printing room?

  4. Lastly, software. I have seen issues with updates. Maybe the flashforge software isnt the best. Also, how about finding model files? Ive seen some stuff about files being tougher to use cause the plate size is smaller than standard.

Sorry for this book. If you read it all thanks!

TLDR: AD5X a good options for a decently tech savy 3d printer?
