Have we ever gotten any kind of interview or explanation from the guy or gal at Viz that made Piccolo talk like Yoda?

Guy (or gal?) is a freaking legend. First US manga chapter of the “Z” portion of the story, the arrival of Raditz, Piccolo totally talks like Yoda the entire chapter. And Viz did it with a straight face. They’re like, this is totally how Piccolo talks! Within a chapter or two they stopped doing it.

What was behind this bizarre decision? Was it actually based on anything? Any nuance with Piccolo’s dialect or manner of speaking in Japanese at all? Or was it just a straight up butchering for the sake of making him distinct?

I’m hoping the anime adaptation of The Galactic Prisoner arc (Moro) corrects one of the biggest missteps in the story [Spoilers]

They need to keep Cranberry alive. Moro should imbue Cranberry with some power the same way he does for Saganbo & gang, and then Cranberry goes rogue. It can be a mini filler side arc like an intermission. And then they can let him get away in the end.

They never should have had Moro just take him out the way they did.

Do you think we’ll ever get a final battle against Black Freeza?

At one point after Toriyama passed away, I strongly believed we’d never see Black Freeza play out, or honestly never even see Super return period. But now that we’re getting Super: Beerus, RoF 2.0, and Galactic Prisoner Arc in anime form, I think the possibility that the manga continues and plays out the Black Freeza resolution feels somewhat more likely now. But part of me still believes the manga may still never continue and the anime is the only continuation we’ll get, and it either won’t make it all the way to Black Freeza, or they’ll exclude him entirely from the anime version of the story. What is it that you think is going to happen, and when?

The humans and the Andalites will be ours! (Spoilers)

My name is Jossit 472 of the Sulp Niar pool. I can’t tell you the name of my human host. I also can’t tell you the name of the Earth city or state we live in. That would be too risky. If I disclosed that information, the Andalites would find us in a flash. And if they found us, well… let’s just say we don’t want them to find us.

The Andalites think they’ve won their long war with us. They believe every free Yeerk has been forced to abandon their bodies, to become a “nothlit,” trapped forever in a form that is not their own, thanks to the Andalite morphing technology. A pathetic and disgraceful fate.

Any self respecting Yeerk would choose destruction over such a cowardly fate! This is the “mercy” of the self righteous Andalites. But we have a surprise for them.

You see, some of we Yeerks did survive. We Yeerks are crafty, and resourceful. We planned for this outcome. We’ve managed to hide from the Andalites and the primitive humans. And this time we’ll do things differently. No more Vissers, no egos, no infighting. We have learned from our past mistakes and adapted.

But most importantly, this time, we know the Andalites greatest weakness! We know about the Cinnabons! And we’re prepared to use this weakness against them. This time things will be different!

The Andalites will fall this time, and the humans will at long last be ours. And we Yeerks will rise up and seize our ultimate destiny. For as long as the Kandrona shines down upon us, there is hope…

So be happy, for me and for all those who squirm into the brains of the free.

What if a Yeerk made a controller of a serial killer?

How do you think the Yeerk would react, once accessing its hosts memories only to discover a monster? Moreover, would the Yeerk continue its hosts behaviors, would it cease them, or would the Yeerks deliver them to the human authorities in exchange for some type of advantage?

It is stated a few times in the series that Yeerks do not like having a mentally unstable host, I think it even goes as far as to state that the mentally ill are unsuitable hosts.

What if the new Animorphs TV Series becomes insanely popular, like it becomes the next big thing, leading to multiple seasons, multiple movies, etc.. BUT, it comes with a big catch.

What if it’s totally off mark, og Animorphs fans all hate it, and it only becomes insanely popular with new fans who never heard of the original.

I was inspired by this when browsing subreddit drama and seen a similar situation unfold on the main Stephen King subs with IT: Welcome to Derry series, although not as “extreme” of a situation there was a lot of arguing about “I’m glad we have all these new fans,” with people lamenting that the new fans are speculating and theorycrafting about things that aren’t canon, aren’t a thing in the book proper, or things that already have a definite answer from long ago.

There was also some of the newer fans tormenting the older fans saying they’re not going to read such a big book, show is better than book, etc.

What if this happened in the Animorphs community? And what would your reaction be?
