Trying to help my partner - how often should they be taken out and cleaned?

I've been with my partner for over 10 years. He had his dentures for about 5 years before I met him, he didn't tell me about his dentures until a few months into dating, I didn't think anything of it.

We live together now though, and I have been increasingly worried about if he is taking care of his dentures properly. First off, he never takes them out and he doesn't clean them unless I badger him about it. He told me that because they are not real teeth and because he can not get cavities, they don't need to be brushed. His jaw will swell periodically, and he complains about sores around his gums. From what I have researched, I am sure it is because he doesn't take them out to clean them.

Should he be taking his dentures out every night? Everything I read says yes, but I also see a lot of anecdotal stories of people who don't take them out every night. I was looking into getting him a new adhesive, to try to encourage him to take better care of them, and I saw that it advertises that it will hold for multiple days. Why would you want an adhesive that will hold for multiple days if you should be taking them out every night?

Does wearing adhesive make it harder to take them out every night?

Is it unreasonable for me to tell him he should be taking them out every night and brushing them? It has caused a lot of arguments. If he's doing everything right, I will leave it alone, but I wanted to ask you guys if this seems normal or if I have a leg to stand on.

I don't know a single child free person in real life. A rant.

I am the only woman that I know, in real life, who has made a decision not to have kids. I'm 33 years old. I personally know 4 women in my immediate circle who are pregnant right now, I have 11 nieces and nephews, and every female friend that I have has at least one child and/or is pregnant with another.

I grew up in a big family, and having kids is just not for me. I've put a lot of thought and care into the decision. I don't think anyone else thinks about it the way I do. It seems like the women I know just get this urge, this need, to have a baby. So they do it. They don't really think about it reason it out like I did. They want to be pregnant, and have parties, and post pictures of their ultrasounds.

I get the feeling, from my older sisters, that they think their lives are more important than mine, that they have taken this big step, and they look at me like I'm stuck in arrested development, that I am never going to "grow up."

To me, they are all becoming the same thing. They are obsessed with Facebook and Temu and plastic waste and chic-fil-a. They have become so vapid. They are poor readers, their music taste has never progressed or they just stop listening to music altogether if its not kiddie stuff. They don't watch movies that aren't kids movies, or have hobbies. They can't hold a conversation, though most of the time it's not even possible, because one of their children will start screaming for attention if they dare take their eyes off them for a single second.

I feel bad for saying this. I've typed this out a hundred times and deleted it. I love women. I am a woman. But damn, do I feel like an alien sometimes when I am around them. I just don't get it, and I don't know why I can't get on board.

Behold My Ancient Relic, Too Faced Chocolate BonBons eyeshadow palette

This is the TooFaced Chocolate BonBons eyeshadow palette. I’ve had this for ages, I got it not too long after it came out. I used to wear it every day for work. Almond Truffle was a perfect “transition shade,” I wish I could buy it in a single. I would use that plus Mocha in the crease, then I’d put Satin Sheets or Molasses Chip on the lid and use Malted with water or setting spray for eyeliner.

Once I got through almond truffle, I kind of stopped using it, I brought it out every now and then but eventually retired it. Sometimes I’d try to use the bright pink shade, Totally Fetch, for a colorful look, but I always found that it faded really fast, and I have better bright pink shades now.

I went through my collection recently and wanted to see if this was worth holding on to. I’ve been working it into my daily routine again, and, surprisingly, most of these shades hold up.

For simple, subtle, every day work makeup, I’ve been doing the light cool brown shade, Pecan Praline in the crease with Cafe Au Lait or Cotton Candy on the lid. Dark Truffle or Earl Grey for eyeliner, with a brush and setting spray. It gets the job done. I’m going to play with it some more and see how far I can get with it.

My arm swatch top to bottom : Cotton Candy, Pecan Praline, Cafe Au Lait, Satin Sheets (looks better in person), Earl Grey, Dark Truffle

My Prius Passed My Sister's Passenger Seat Motion Sickness Test

My younger sister suffers badly from motion sickness from riding in cars. It's bad enough that she has these crazy looking motion sickness goggles that she wears if she does have to sit passenger seat. But, typically, she just avoids riding passenger and will drive herself, because it's easier for her than getting sick.

We were planning a road trip last month. I really wanted to take my new-to-me prius, and she was happy for me and did genuinely want me to take it. She took a leap of faith and agreed to ride passenger, with the caveat that I would let her drive if she started feeling sick.

I'm here to brag that on the 7 hour drive down, and 7 hour drive back, she only got a little bit queasy for about 30 minutes, on the way back. That's pretty much unheard of for her, so I was very proud of my prius. She said she had not been able to ride passenger without getting sick in anyone's car in YEARS. I kept it on Eco Mode, and I was paying attention and driving very carefully. I believe those two things in combination with how smooth the prius already is, made a big difference and I am really happy about it.

This was last month, but I had wanted to come on here and share the experience. Maybe you can convince someone in your life to try it out. This is my first prius, I got it last year. It is a 2020 Prius Prime and it has 33,000 miles. It's the nicest car I've ever had!
